Children of Shadows Campaign
Whizzz! Andrew' s next arrow flies between you and his intended target, flying off into the distance as he quickly knocks another arrow on the bow. Talon unleashes a fury of blows against the wild dog but due to some strange streak of luck the dog remains unharmed, dodging your every blow. Seeing a breach in your defense and a chance to land an attack the dog pounces forward and gets hold of your leg. (Talon: 3 points of damage) You try to shake him off but the dog' s teeth burrow slightly deeper as he struggles to hold on. Then all of a sudden a loud 'whouf' is emmited as he lets loose and you see Mordecai' s shaman staff hit the pooch in the ribs.
He who keeps the old akindled and adds new knowledge is fit to be a teacher.
If the dogs are attacking Mordecai directly, then he's going to issue them a swift beatdown over the head with his staff. Otherwise, however, he just stands there, defending himself, ready to step out of the way if these dogs snap at him.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
Blocked by both Talon and Mordecai, Andrew doesn' t get a chance to get a clear shot at the dog so he decides to hold on for now. Using the distraction brought by Mordecai, Talon is able to land a sideway blow and you hear bones crunch as the axe hits its target.
Suddenly a small nearby wooden door flings open and a young man garbed in dark clothing and armed with a crossbow fires a bolt towards a yet unidentified target. Seeing his bolt fly wild he puts his hand to his mouth.
Watch out, behind you!
Andrew quickly turns around and stares right at a huge white feral dog creeping closer through the junk. Seeing his silent aproach has failed the dog pounces towards Andrew, who let' s fly an arrow but to no avail, and knocks him to the ground, getting hold of his right arm as he closes his huge maw. (Andrew: 5 points of damage)
The wounded feral dog decides he has had enough of a beating for today and turns tail while Mordecai is still confused about what' s all going on but adopts a defensive stance just in case.

With a shout of anger and pain, Andrew try to kick off the dog with his feets while he grabs the crowbar with his left hand. If he succedes to grab his crowbar, the next turn he wil try to hit the dog with it (taking aim to the head of the creature)...
Sommetimes the truth is at the wrong side of the shotgun barrel ...
Kicking at the dog Andrew succeeds in hurting the creature' s stomach, who let' s loose but continues to attack with renewed rage. Unfortunatly for the dog his attack fails critically and you manage not only to evade the charge but it even buys you some time to reach for the crowbar, while the dog lands painfully on his side, right next to the charging Talon who starts mercilesly swinging at the white pooch. With a sickening crunch the axe lands on the dog' s pelvis, paralyzing his rear and making him an easy kill. The succesive blow sends the dog to the great kennel in the sky.
While Mordecai helps Andrew getting up the young stranger stands a bit unsure in the vicinity but he doesn' t lower his crossbow.

Duriel grimaced as he watched the huge feral dog recieve the killing blow, glancing over as Mordecai questioned him. He stepped forward and carefully put his crossbow away, looking at each of the savages with a long glance. He turned to Mordecai, looking the man up and down, wondering if this is their leader, and answered ina polite, although confused tone
Me? Oh, I'm Renfeld... I, I was out here with a friend, hunting and we were accosted by the wolves, he recieved a nasty leg wound, I don't think he made it. They chased me here, so I barricaded myself inside.
He paused and watched to see how his story was going over. It was mostly the truth, with a few details left out and a few more added in - but they didn't have to know that.
Who are you three, anyway? What are you doing way out here?

Talon picks up his sling, and puts the axe away.
Looking at the others, he shrugs.
We are searchers. We are scouting this area, and came across your tracks. Since one seemed to be in trouble, we decided to follow. We were unsure if we were following friends or foes, but we decided to continue. We did find you companion, on a bridge. We are sorry to say that he was beyond help.

Duriel studied the young Tribal who answered him first and nodded, looking down sadly. He did not need to fake the pained expression that came across his face as he heard the news - he was the last left, now. For a moment he felt completely alone, then realized he was in the company of other... albeit strangers, and tribals to boot.
I was afraid that was his fate... I had wanted to stay with him, but he refused, he didn't want me to suffer the same ending as he. Where did you find him? If the dogs are gone, I'll return to bury him... thank you very much for your help, I probably would have starved in there if you hadn't dealt with the dogs.

With a grimace of pain and a worried expresion, Andrew ask the newly met stranger:
-Do you happened to know if those dogs are carrying any desease? We saw the wrning sign about the "New plague"...
He looks at his arm and try to move his fingers.
-I wish I have had somme healing herbs to help me with this...

Talon takes out the crossbow bolts he picked up, and hands them to Duriel.
Here, you may need these. As to your friend, he was on the bridge. Since we didn't know what to do about him, we left him there.
Talon looks thoughtful for a moment.
Perhaps we should check this area out first. After that we can help you bury him, if you want.
Talon says in a friendly way, taking an instant liking to him.

Two towers guard the entrance from which way you came, but they seem to be in a dire state of decay. On the right side of a central path, where you' re standing now, stands a large wooden building with ample small windows set against the roof and one large wooden door, barricaded from the inside. A small door covering a crawlspace lies open next to it. This was the way the young stranger came out of. Further behind the large wooden building and on it' s left stand dozens of smaller rectangular shaped wooden cabins, all with filthy and greasy little windows. Parts of the path are litered with decaying junk and rusted barrels. A large stone building on the left (the one with the cross painted on it) hinders your line of sight over the rest of the compound. The dirtpath leads to a t-shape, to the left and right. On the right side are more wooden cabins, they seem like barracks. On the leftside stands the large stone building, some wooden cabins similar to the rest, a half ruined shack constructed partially from discarded stones and aluminium plates. Long cables run from the roof towards the stone building and the watchtowers that stand along another huge metal gate. Strange tracks dissapear through this gate that seems to be locked.
So what do you do?
So what do you do?

Mordecai stares blankly forward for a bit.
Hrm... perhaps we should follow those tracks up to the gate. We could look into that stone building as well, Talon - I believe there may be some powerful spirits there.
With conviction, he starts to lead the others forward towards the old stone building he mentioned.

While Talon looks around for an entrance and possibly some indications as to what purpose this building once used to serve, Mordecai walks up to the huge gate. The gate is made from two giant plates of metal, reinforced with sturdy stuts, and meassures about 4 metres in height. A heavy and large lock and plenty of chains keep it securly locked. Rusted barbwire ensures that no-one would climb over the nearby walls. At some points there are long cables, originating from the strange shed, attatched to the barbwire and a strange board warns: Caution: High Voltage The two guardtowers next to the gate seem to be in a much beter state than the ones at the front gate and you judge that climbing into one of them holds little risk and might give you a chance to find out what' s behind the gate.
Hmmm, forget about those tracks. I mixed it up with something else. My mistake
Talon checks out the building and to his relief he finds not only one but two entrances. To the North stands a large double door with a warning sign above it: Keep in line!. To the West is a single smaller door which reads: Personel only Turning towards his companions to tell the news he suddenly stands dazzeled. Near the perimiter wall and the shed stands a huge rusted metal beast with catterpillar tracks. Large metal horns stick out of it from the back and a large metal claw protects it' s front.

Well, no way in hell is Mordecai going to touch that wire. Examining the guard tower, he turns and says to the others - Any of you want to climb up there and get a good look around? We might get a pretty good idea of our surroundings.
Mordecai, however, is far too timid to climb up there first. Instead, he proceeds towards the old stone building. Pausing at the entrance to get a good look around, he stands still for a minute, assessing the spirits within the building. Then he walks right on in and looks around.
(I assume I'm oblivious of Talon's situation?)
