Im kinda looking for a game that has good multipayer AND singleplayer for ps2/gc. I know there is some great party games for GC but they are supposedly very shallow in single player :( Anyone have ideas? This might help smiley too.

Since this is primarily for multiplayer, I'll try and keep the games that are most fun in multiplayer.

Hmm, for fighting games I suggest Virtua Fighter 4 and Soul Calibur 2. Ofcourse, Tekken 5 is coming out like next month or so, so you might want to wait for that. Additionally, Tekken 5 will contain the original tekken in it and supposibily tekken 2 and tekken 3. So you'll atleast get 2 games in one if you wait...although the original tekken came out like......7 years ago or something? You can probably find Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore for like 5 bucks if you look hard enough and it's fairly enjoyable.

If you prefer old fashioned 2-d fighting games, I suggest Guilty Gear X2 and King of Fighters 2002/2003, both should be pretty cheap.

Needless to say, any grand theft auto is fun, even with other people.

Killzone is probably the best first person shooter you'll find for PS2 and has a pretty fun multiplayer. It's online compatible so if you find other people who bought a PS2, an Online adapter, and the game you can have some pretty good fun.

Same goes with Resident Evil Outbreak which is fun with abunch of friends on a LAN.

Dynasty Warriors 4 of Samurai Warriors is REALLY fun with multiple people. I highly suggest em. Hmm....I think that's pretty much it for the fun Multiplayer games that I own.

As for equipment, an extra controller and 1 memory card is neccesary.

Game cube has....like.....that one Final Fantasy Game? Isn't there like a 4 Player old school zelda game? I dunno. I don't really like GC, sorry pooper.

I'm going to refer to GC games only, since I only own a GC.

Try Lost Kingdoms 2 or 1, Custom Robo, Gotcha Force, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.

Custom RObo looked kinda interesting even though it got mediocre reviews, all the others looked pretty mehh and got not too good reviews either for the GC stuff.

I dont really enjoy fighter much anymore, thought Virtual Fighter 4 could be different. Co-op stuff looks more fun to me.

Timesplitters 3 comes out soon and has a good Co-op mode. I highly suggest the 2nd one, especially since it can be found for like 10 or 20 bucks.

I'm going over these games with my girlfriend this friday, read reviews, find prices and so on.

How about car building/racing games?

It doesn't have to be too involving regarding parts, because I don't know a flying flat fuck about engines other than the basics...

I'm taking alook at timesplitters right now.

Gran Turismo 3: A Spec

If you wait like afew more days, the new Gran Turismo is coming out. On the other hand, Grand Turismo 3 costs 20 bucks. I also suggest Wipeout XL for PS1 if you can find it. It's old as hell and the graphics suck to what we're used to, but it's a buttload of fun and still has one of the best game soundtracks around.

alright, I ordered the following stuff:

1 Sony PlayStation 2 PSTwo
1 BigBen PS2 Controller
1 Datel 32 MB Memory Card
1 Final Fantasy X-2 (PS2)
1 Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas (PS2)
1 Soul Calibur II (PS2)

Regarding FFX2, yes I like Final Fantasy, so shoot me.

This is what I could get over the intarweb at once, and for a fairly good deal.

I'll keep a lookout for the new GT.

I like the idea about Wipeout, it's less build, more speed and fun, kind of racing, right?
(That's pretty much my ideal type of game... just plain fun =) )

2nd party m8...

There's only one controller with the console =/

But what do you mean regarding the memory card?
Aren't they important? For saving games and so on?

Yeees yes... I know the drill, FF sucks and will always suck no matter what.

No its just people usually get the official SONY memory cards so they feel more safe because 3rd party stuff tends to be shit and u could loose all your saves.

True, you need to make sure it is good if you are getting third party as the quality can vary. Some of the pads and cards are just horrible.

Good call on San Andreas, though.

I highly suggest Katamari Damaci for your girlfriend. It contains hours and hours of repetitive yet highly addictive gameplay. I personally can't stand it, but everyone else plays it like its crack.

...That might just be what I'm looking for, thanks!

Looks god awful to me though.

Wish I knew that before...

But the orignal cards are so damn expensive, not to mention the fact they have almost no space...!

It's a matter of quality versus quantity. Right now you should worry about having "hardly any space" honestly, I've only needed 2 memory cards for my PS 2 and I have around a 80 or 90 game library.

There was a Wipeout for PS2 and it's pretty fun and probably cheap to find, but egh, I just liked the original better. Soundtrack was definetly better.
