For the record though, I really can't be stuffed attempting to depose DaC's poet laureate. The intent is not there.

Yes. Or, to be more precise, it means I survived 4 weeks of refresher training and 7 weeks at the Infantry School. Let me tell you, Lark, there were definintely days when I woke up and felt my age.

The most uncomfortable thing about the whole process was that I was older than my drill sergeants and the fact that I made sergeant before most of them were even in the Army. Of course, when you're no longer a sergeant that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot...

I'm only here for a couple more days, though. Next Monday (4/25) I'm heading out to Germany to rejoin 1st Infantry Division (this will be my third time with that division) and I've a million things to do before I leave. I'll probably start up a topic later today where I'll recount my experiences of the last few months.

Hopefully you've all be well while I've been gone.
