Well in my opinion its not geekier than playing pc games.

I've done some Vampire LARP'ing.
We still need to get the credit-cards working though..
(There's a small central we're connected to, with fake/ingame money)

I'd call it gangster LARP though, since most don't even believe that the vamps exist. I mean, what's the point of playing vampire, if you don't even believe in them.

There are some fairly nice chicks, the ratio is 40:20
Most of them are playing whores, or rich women.

Going to try fantasy LARP'ing this weekend.
Mostly to powerplay though

Here's what I like about LARP'ing, because halfway in the game people get so drunk they don't even care anymore and just try to party from there on out (Which *can* be considered LARP'ing, because our part of it, is positioned in "The Jazzclub", so most don't know the difference.)

From there on, people play poker, roulette, dice and sometimes russian roulette(Haven't tried that yet). They talk IC/OOC and people just hang out like they normally do.

Why do it?
For me it's the atmosphere, the theater going on in front, behind and around me, the good drinks (We have a kick-ass bartender, who works, surprise, as a bar-tender irl, and the drinks are near free.), the people you get to meet (other LARPing societies join up, since it's a city-wide LARP) and the fact that I have a sawed off pumpgun at my disposal

(Fake of course). Still looks cool though.

I haven't seen a single gay member btw, except one who I strongly suspect is gay or bisexual since he has a girlfriend.
And despite of my hobby of skull-fucking artsy, I don't consider myself as gay. I don't even know why you people think like that.

The people in LARP'ing though, are mostly posers, but they're still nice people, most of them. I suspect that's what you mean.
