Zelda is not even fucking
close to an RPG. It is a great game, however.
Anyway, my first console RPG was Mystic Quest, from Squaresoft.
You can talk to people, enhance your stats, collect useless weapons, wander around aimlessly what more do you need for an RPG?

Well, for starters you need to be able to make decisions and choices affecting the outcome of the non-linear game story.... but then that rules out most console RPGs including Mystic Quest and the Final Fantasy franchise. Hence why I believe the phrase "Console RPG" is oxymoronic. Or maybe just moronic.
But still, Zelda is a "Hack n Slash Adventure" game, and a damn good one.

Yeah..I never considered Zelda to be an RPG of any sort. It's an adventure game.

God, I was worried for a second there. This is a Fallout forum. Let's be careful what we called RPGs. Everyone else can be retarded, but let's do the right thing.
