I think it's Ridley Scott once again posing the question, "what makes us human?" Deckard finds the paper unicorn that Gaff left in the hallway. One has to wonder, does Gaff know about Deckard's unicorn dream? Does that mean Deckard is a replicant with implanted memories, or is it just a coincidence?

The Blade Runner Director's Cut is AWFUL. None of the extra stuff was even made for the movie. It's a mix of scenes from Legend and Shining left on the cutting room floor. They did a good job converting it to the digital format, though.
For the last 10 years or so Ridley Scott has been trying to make a true director's cut, which includes restored scenes (like the one where Deckard meets Holden in the hospital hooked up on life support), a better DVD transfer, the theatrical version with Harrison Ford's narration, a new better narration, and a ton of other shit I can't remember. For some reason the Blade Runner rights are divided among several people and companies, and having them all get together to allow a new director's cut is next to impossible.
Oh yeah, and Scott revealed a few years ago in an interview about Blade Runner that Deckard was in fact a replicant.

Yes, I'm aware of all this. You may have misgivings about the added scenes, but I'm more than willing to take them over the painfully (and purposefully) bad voiceover of the original, and that horrendous, tacked on happy ending. I've actually read conflicting reports about the unicorn sequence being leftover from Legend. I've seen claims that it was actually filmed for Blade Runner but cut for some reason lost to the sands of time. That awful final sequence, though, as you say, is from The Shining.
The true director's cut hasn't yet been released because, as I understand it, the company who had the rights to it went under and there's a legal battle over who now owns it.
A lot of people like to argue that the way Ridley Scott declared Deckard was a replicant (allegedly shifty eyed and smirking) was a challenge to continue the debate. These people, in my inexpert opinion, are fags.

Well, he thought he was human. Also, it's to be expected that Leon and Roy could beat his ass - they were soldiers.Kashluk wrote:I guess he was some sort of an outdated model then, since he got his ass kicked through-out the movie? Ah, Woo's chinese movies were all excellent. He went to shit when he moved to AmericaWolfman Walt wrote:"Legend of the Drunken Master" has one of the best end fight scenes to memory. You also can't go wrong with "For a Better Tommorow II" the final sequence is like 10 minutes of choreographed death.
What was so awesome in Drunken Master? I can't remember what happenes at the end. Is it in this one that Jackie fights the faggy white man?
On a depressing '70s note, there is an old film ('70s) whose name I
don't remember in which a woman is sealed in a pit just barely
large enough to stand up in. The cops are looking for her.
But they don't find her. The end of the film shows the dirt on top
of the pit cover. Some screams echo. Credits roll.
Also, T3 ending is Nukes Glorious Nukes. The worst of the 3 films,
but yes oh yes oh yes - the best possible ending for any film ever.
I just wish it went on for another 5-10 minutes with the camera
panning all around the planet, zooming in for closeups of missile
launches and detonations and slow motion city obliteration.
I would just cut out that section and loop it as porn or a screensaver
or both.
