The Harry Potter books are, amazingly, pleasant to read. Amazingly, because they contain emo fags and magic so bad that... my english language skills are lacking to describe it.

Movies are bad. AND they're dubbed here. I suggest you all to download polish dubbed HP movies. Remember, I know what's best for you

I don't see the point in dubbing films/tv programmes. The voice acting is seldom any better than in the original version and for some reason they find the most annoying squeaky voices to dub kids' Disney movies(at least here). Even kids should watch cartoons in English. And if they can't read yet, they're too fucking stupid to understand anything about the movie anyway.

You get used to reading subtitles very quickly and don't consider them disturbing. It develops your reading skills too. I usually have subtitles when I'm watching a movie although I don't need them. Also, I think foreign movies/tv + subtitles is the best way to learn a language. That's at least how I learned English in the first place. English classes in school, on the other hand, were completely useless.

As a kid I learned english because I didn't know how to read the subtitles yet. So in order to understand the greatness of Terminator and other similar jolly kids movies I obtained a mediocre understanding of english.

Finnish Disney dubs are ( or at least used to be, haven't watched much Disney since Lion King, really

) pretty high quality actually - the best known and most respected pop artists and actors usually. It's the cheaper stuff that's god poor dubbing, like those morning cartoons on channel 4, for example...

I was in the hospital the other day in the ICU waiting room and there was an obnoxious redneck family waiting in there with me. The father kept telling the son that Harry Potter was devil worship. The mother was telling him that if he ever had sexual thoughts he should repress them and just pray and think of Dollywood. It was all I could do to hold my tongue.

Poor fucking child is going to grow into a grade A psychopath. Everytime he gets horny he'll think of Jesus, hedonistic consumerism and a tripple E tittied mascot. The horror.
