Will there be a Mac version of FO3?

Since Bethesda decided to make Fallout 3, we figured we might as well have a forum about it.

MacPlay

Post by 4too »

Macplay

Sorry I missed the thread until this day.

http://www.macplay.com/about/

PR Hand Shake:
... Interplay founded MacPlay in the early 1990s as the exclusive publisher of Interplay content for the Macintosh Platform. ...

Before Interplay exited the Macintosh gaming market in 1997, they dominated the platform by bringing a steady stream of award-winning franchises such as ...

... MacPlay, as a wholly owned subsidiary of United Developers, is once again publishing high-caliber games for the Macintosh. Its team of industry veterans, and its partnerships with leading content providers assure a steady stream of critically acclaimed game titles. ...

http://www.macplay.com/games.php

List of games ported and readily for sale, includes Sims, Doom 3, NWN's, Halo, WCraft, and WOW.

Don't seem to have the FO's here for sale. Recall they had them at a sell out price in 2005. Still support them. Some poster at NMA said he got a quick reply to his e-mail.

Would need a big Mac with AGP, or PCI Express slots to handle the 128 meg plus video card that OBLIV seems to require.

Since Mac's are migrating their hardware towards Intel chip sets, or the like, ""the NEX-GEN '''' Mac's might be able to handle a reasonable, right brain dominate, Beth E-MUR-SHUN port, when ever FO3 starts being hyped.

Will have a long wait. E-mail Macplay and ask if they 'date' Beth products.

.................

Start shopping for a used big box MAC when the paid third party activists start indoctrinating us, at NMA, DAC. and RPGCodex, so we will all SHARE AND ENJOY, in social realist harmony, the Politically Correct RPG ideology.

Lot of slick talking flacks with that Ted Bundy smile around shilling for Beth, lately.
I am only convinced of a testimonials' sincerity by known, or high post count personae. Instant credibility: Don't matter how the SOB parts his toupee, as long as he's ''our''' SOB. Something said in real conversational 'go to hell' , ''eng-glaze''. not a tele marketers', enunciated, check list.

Expect the same political grass roots hard sell in '07 or '08 .... Wandered off topic...

I also hope for a mac version, I got so pissed off at my PC that I left it to rot. As it's possible to boot/virtualize windows...I'm not too concerned.

I always enjoy Fallout 2 on my iBook...at lectures. Listen to some designergoofball or play Fallout...hmm...

I'm afraid to use one of those virtual Windows programs. There must be a catch, it seems too simple.

Well I installed Parallels on my mothers mac mini and she's had no problems (and she's over seventy!). I don't need it, but it seems to work quite well.

it really is very easy, but you'll take a huge performance hit. i used a 1,5 GHz macbook to emulate XP, which it did. at a speed of 200 MHz.

Hmm...on the mini it was quite fast...odd. I didn't try it that much, but it was fast. Way faster than anything I've used before.
