Regarding the consumption of floating eyes, telepathy, whilst very useful, increases vulnerability to mind flayers.
Writing of, consider genociding mind flayers, liches, puddings, trolls and nagas. Possibly others.
Eat all dragon corpses (100% chance of good, appropriate intrinsics). Eat all wraith corpses (instant level gain). Eat all giant corpses (strength). Eat all mind flayer corpses (intelligence/telepathy) Eat quantum mechanic corpses only if you don't have intrinsic speed. Eat all troll corpses. Or tin them. Tin and discard if monk.
Oh, polymorph into a xorn (remove armour/shirt/cloak first) and eat spare metallic rings and amulets, good chance of gaining their effects permanently (that is, until gremlins steal them). Certain jewelry cannot be eaten. Being able to survive without air is fantastic.
Regeneration increases hunger.
Tins of spinach are the best of foods.
Polymorph into a cockatrice (which will cause you to drop your armour and weapon), lay eggs (#sit), they hatch into good pets. Cockatrice eggs also make wonderful projectiles. Use gloves. -1 to luck for breaking your own eggs.
Get/wish for silver/grey dragon scale mail (reflection/magic resistance is terrific) and/or a fireproof cloak of magic resistance. Also fireproof boots of speed. Non pacifistic monks will have to go without dragon scales.
Regarding dragon scale armor, if you're too thrifty or simply unable to spend a wish, wear (only) the scales and read an uncursed scroll of enchant armour. Blessed scrolls are best.
When wishing for stackables, it is painless to ask for more than one. It also doesn't hurt to ask for +'s, blessed versions and fire/rust/rot/corrodeproofing etc. The engine will ignore non applicables.
Keep 7 candles and a blindfold if you don't have reflection.
Polymorph piles of items from useless to useful.
Keep lizard corpses (for some reason, perpetual) or something acidic on hand when dealing with cockatrices. Alternatively, just kill the bastards from a distance. Polymorphing also works.
Succubi/Incubi are great when you have high int/cha (20+). Ring of adornment.
The diet of rust monsters and similar foul, awful creatures has you livid ? Read uncursed scrolls of enchant/destroy armour while confused. As usual, blessed is best.

Slimed ? Cure sickness, prayer, amulet of unchanging, burning. Unicorn horn is useless.
