word, i was just listening to that, in fact. check out the vandermark 5's album where they cover a bunch of sun ra & funkadelic songs (i forget what it's called).

I have to admit that I can't enjoy every piece Ra ever made, some can be a bit exsausting, to say the least. The recordings above should give you a pleasant introduction.
also check out the film Space is the Place if you can get ahold af a copy, pretty disturbing, didn't manage waching all ov it myself...
