I rented it to watch with my niece (Scooby Doo cartoons were getting old), but never let her watch it because that worm covered monster at the beginning would have freaked her out. She watched and enjoyed Laputa: Castle in the Sky, though.
Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away are good for the young ones.

Akira is good
Spirited Away is a whole different movie when drunk or high (whatever your preference)
Castle in the Sky is my prefered movie of that guy
Ghost in the Shell is pretty good, but I can not get past the heavy influences of William Gibson and how this movie mucks it up.
Macross (first movie) has nastalgic effect
I have always enjoyed the Lupin III movies
Anything in a series I do not watch, due to no time and I hate watching an episode here and there without knowing what is going on.

Wouldn't Spirited Away be too slow to keep a 5-year-old's interest? Regardless, I should get it for myself since I enjoyed Mononoke and Nausicaa was one of my favorite manga.

Fist of the Northstar is a fun blend of Mad Max, Bruce Lee, Clint Eastwood, Conan and the New Testament.

Will I enjoy Ghost in the Shell if I kept falling asleep during the Cowboy Bebop movie? It seriously took my like 4 nights to actually finish it because I kept falling asleep because it was so boring.

Probably not. If Knocking on Heaven's Door sent you sleep, then GiTS will probably put you in a coma.

Excellent, the director of Jin-Roh also did Ghost in the shell 2 which is probably why I like it loads better then 1. It'll still send Pooper to sleep though.

VArious degrees of boring. If you have nothing else to do, watch it. If you have something (anything) else to do, do that instead.
