Haris, just because you should have decent NPC AI's, it doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to be controlled.
A lot of people like being able to control them, fine, I don't mind that. But there should be room for those of us who actually want to play the charater we created.

Haris missed the entire point in my post, the same point that he missed in a similar discussion some months ago.
NPC
Non that is to say NOT
Player that is YOU the PLAYER
Character that is the CHARACTER which YOU are playing.
Thus. NOT. YOU(R). CHARACTER.

Haris wrote:I prefer controllable npcs followers over "get shot in the back by stupid npcs" any day. I honestly never used a single follower more than a short while in Fallout games just cause they where anoying and stupid. Every time i would get follower i would get pissed off after 10 minutes and kill him or ditch him off in desert.
Sure in fallout 2 they fixed getting shot in the back problem a bit but than the horible anoyence of them getting killed after longass fight just made it as enoying as ever.
I think thats what makes computer controlled characters more fun because they aren't an integral part of the story and if they die you can go on without them. I used to reload just to make sure every character survived but thats not as much fun.
It was always a ball trying to drag a full party through the laser wall grid room thingy in the military base.
