I guess to do that, he'll have to get a friend to rip the ISO, and then transfer it in some other manner like CD's or over LAN.

My dvd drive opened and closed by itself just 15 minutes ago. It's never done that before. Can you tell me what's happening? Is it a virus, system glitch, magic or sign of an impending apocalypse?

I think the last time I used my DVD drive was in early 2006 so I'll just pull off the wires if it becomes a problem.

when i was in secondary school, we had an app that could do that with the scool pc's. all we needed was an ip-address. this was before people started using firewalls, though. so unnless your pc has been sitting in a closet for 15 years, it's not that.
