Well, obviously, the second option has come true. Its about Jesus and heaven and Christianity and stuff. Its being made by Christians, for Christians, and they don't know how to make video-games.
The developers are probably under the impression that model posing programs are the height of vidjea'game technology and they just bought the least expensive one they could get a hold of.
Prediction: This game is all cut-scene.
