It finally hit me: There will never be another Fallout game on the PC, but the DS will save us! PC and console technology and gamer tastes have diverged so far from what we consider a basic Fallout RPG experience that they will probably never again converge, but the DS is playing host to a renaissance of cool old-school games.
This is the answer to life's pain and suffering! The answer is 42? I think I'm in the wrong room.
OK, so I've owned a DS Lite for the past year and though I have a fast PC rig and some consoles I've been doing 90% of my gaming on the DS. Why? Because I can play non-3D, top-down/iso, classic RPGs and RTS games like it's 1998. I've been going through Lunar Knights, several Zeldas and Final Fantasies, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Hotel Dusk, FF Tactics, Heroes of Mana, and more. The latest Dragon Quest (Japan's most popular RPG franchise, more popular than FF) is coming out on the DS.
Popscythe's right; whoever wants to resurrect the Fallout we all know and love only has to target the DS audience. DO IT!!! :petitions:

.. I endorse this, and would offer time to the project, if someone is still serious about porting. Fo1 would be a GREAT start.
