Bro...really...
I really like duck and cover, I read a lot of stuff on this site, but I've never registered. I registered though just so I could write this: What the hell is wrong with somebody that they would write that long ass post!?!?!? Dude, simplify. You've thought WAY too much about this...
I live in a small town in AZ w/ less than 50,000 people, kind of like that game for 360 - Dead Rising.
I already own a .22 pistol and a 9mm carbine, so I would use those to get to these 2 gun shops about 5-10 minutes away (10-45 minutes on foot) In addition to that, there's a knife/sword/axe (believe it or not) shop about the same time distance away (10-45 minutes depending on trans.)
I would take the extended cab truck and the small camper for storage. My cat would definitely be with me. She's scared of everything anyway, so I'm not worried about her being eaten by a zombie. First things first, grocery store and empty the account on canned food and water, maybe some jerky but it's really expensive to buy, not so much if you can make it yourself, which I don't know how.
Grab warm clothes (heavy jackets, boots, etc, most of which I already own) and go even further north than I am. I'm figuring w/ no circulation in zombies, since they are dead, if they go to a cold enough climate, they won't be able to move and would just freeze. It's the summertime I'd be worried about. (Like now in the USA)
If I had someone w/ me, I would steal another truck and use my trailer and quad for short recon/hunting, or grab this huge forklift from my work and a conveyor to put up in the air for safe sleep.
Then just head north w/ whoever I could find. That's about it. Now I'm weird too, thanks.

You're not exactly the soul of brevity either.cazsim83 wrote:<snip>

They'd probably stow away in the hold or something and jump you just when you thought it was safe (around the 1:10 mark in most movies).frissy wrote:Actually they walk underwater. Space shuttle, none of those suckers can fly or what?
Islands are a nice idea but everyone and their dog has that idea, which means that planes/choppers/boats full of partially-zombified people will be arriving at your little paradise every day. Lose.
I'd go for an old water tower, stuff it with stuff and break off the ladder after me. Stay inside and snipe anything that gets close, alive or zombie.

That was the plan in Day of the Dead. Didn't work so well. Somebody always goes ape-shit and lets the zombies in the back door; probably you.Carib wrote:I'd put together a posse of my Military buddies and we'd survive in our fort filled with MREs, a generator and lots of ammo.
