I think in Spore "subtle actions" are just a way to make people think it does something it really doesn't. :chew:

The auto DLC just means that every now and then you find things like a stupid green thing named "Y43534" made by "YnUUUppp". I can't wait for the spammers to get ahold of it.

If someone can be arsed, make a giant Cock-creature. Such a possibility alone would make the game good.

Where have you been all this time? Wasn't the whole gigantic penis invasion the hottest thing of the season a couple of months ago? Mad Max RW was really into if, if I recall correctly.

When I for once thought that I had gotten an original idea.

I've been liek idle for a while. And, tho' mandatory, I deceded against reading up on each and every post by MMRW once I returned.

Boy was that a bad decision....

I'm interested to hear what MMRW thinks about the game. I downloaded a bunch of his creatures and it was kind of fun fighting against tribes of Deathclaws.

I haven't played it, and based on 99% of people's reactions I won't bother downloading it to find out. They had me on the fence for a while before release, but learning the depth (or lack of) of each stage/minigame and finally the atrocious DRM was a total deal breaker. Maybe in a year when they remove the 3 install limit and release a few expansions then rerelease the whole thing in a cheap bundle I'll be interested again.

It's an OK game really, but it just gets boring way too fast. Not worth the full price, for sure. Go for the bargain bin.

So I found a copy of Spore.

How the hell do I play as the creatures I created in the Creature Creator?

I think you need to play it all the way to the space thing first... then you can start anywhere you want with any creature you want?

yea... definitly not worth 50$. maybe 30. i would probably play it one more time and that would be it. currently at the space stage, and classed as a peaceful type. this is probably the point of the game, to get to the space stage. i think i will like that stage and will play it twice, but nothing else. Everything thing has pointless little quests like in Oblivion, (but spore is full of them)

So i think im going to have to download GTA 4 to compensate the purchase of spore. (:joy: GTA 4) now taht is a good game with hours of play.

Would you please translate that to download time? I'm a very busy person.

Spore would've been a cute xbox live arcade title...

I got through the first stage, by the time it was over it was getting rather boring. I nearly finished the second stage but that got boring so I watched Family Guy. Wait a year for it to cost 20 bucks. If you're into download, put it on the back burner if you have important things. I didn't have time to get to the space age or anything fancy, I was at a friend's playing.

Heard the term "populist" used to describe cartoony fuckin modern trash games.

Spore's definitely populist. It entirely consists of five spore themed rehashes of other games, namely:

Flow, World of Warcraft, Age of Empires, Supreme Commander and Sins of a Solar Empire.

That being said, if anything, these rehashes were really pretty poor. There's this forced bullshit that moderately resembles "choices" (ala bioshit) where you, as a fucking prehistoric nonsentient can befriend other creatures in order to play the game as either a merchant or a religious faction. That being said, your species apparently remembers everything it's ever done without ever in any way making a recorded history so what you did as a single cell directly affects your space faring creatures.

All in all, it's like someone took five games and an idea and starred them in the feces episode of Will it Blend.

No, it didn't blend. It's more linear than half-life 2 and more insulting than sim city societies.

But hey, you can make shitty custom 3d models that have massive clipping issues that remind you forcefully of the N64.

Garbage.

SimCity Societies really *was* insulting. It's an abomination of a SimCity -game.

Populist = Populous Like?
It is like Populous got a big brother that can be played and has less of a storyline.
