It made something like 800 million bananas, so I'm surprised the studio took this long to crank out the sequels.

Well ghostbusters already had a sequel so coming out with another sequel much later isn't unheard of. It's like godfather part 3 you could say.

Yeah but Godfather Part III was nowhere near as good as the others, I thought. Don't get me wrong, its still a good movie, just not as good as Part II.
