Yeah, pretty much. The game itself is an improvement, but the first one was pretty shit so that's not saying much. Honestly the game is worth playing, but it's a Temple of Trials moment where you have to go through this godforsaken "growing up" phase, AKA "establishing the plot," [AKA "the tutorial"] in order to get there, and, unlike the Temple of Trials, there's no fast way through, you're stuck in this hour long ordeal. It's kept me from playing the game again, to be honest, but the two times I was able to get past it I was able to piss away a bit of time before getting completely bored and moving on.
Honestly it really does play out very much the same, just with slightly refined character leveling, skills, magic, etc, and, of course, the dog that was somehow the single selling point of the whole damn thing.
Oh, and just for the heck of it, I hope you've all heard by now that Project Milo has been canceled, due to Molyneaux's inability to provide any actual USE for the thing in the video game industry. Now if he presented it to some sort of AI research group maybe he could get somewhere but really, how was that supposed to do anything for gaming?
