phpBB is just about the only forum code that doesn't slow my browser to a molasses-covered crawl. Besides, a forum is a forum is a forum, no matter what bells and whistles you put on it. As long as we can post threads and reply to them, why go through the hassle of upgrading?

I think a lot of the serious RPG discussion of the old days died because pretty much every aspect of them has already been discussed. I often go the codex hoping to find a good thread about a current game that has been released but instead I see tons of people saying pop-a-mole and I get scared and run away.
