If the problems is/are that you can't get the speech files to work (i.e. you don't get briefings and no characters say anything), you can find the answers in the FOT mapping/modding forum. I've posted "how-to's" on getting the speech file(s) working so many times, you might accidentally find out how to fix it!
*looks at MV strangly*

How stupid do you think I am? Remeber Endocore's BOSCops? his first version made available was missing the speech file, which I fixed myself.

Although I don't map I have tooled around with the mapper enough to get enough basic knowledge about them.

As for the problem, I'll PM you about it.

Very! Erm, sorry, I didn't know you knew the basics - you're a virtual no-show in the M&M forum, so I figured you didn't map at all.

Could finally dload and play it last night for a while. Quite good, actually! I cannot understand why did you include the BoS banners though. Did Wasteland have a BoS too?

Where were the banners? I wasn't going to get real nitpicky and have it 100% Wasteland. So yeah, it is kind of a mixture/hodgepodge of FOT and Wasteland - oh well!

Can't remember exactly. I think in a room based on BoS tents walls and wooden roof. I could only spend 20 minutes or so with it so I can't remember all details very much. Btw the best buildings so far were the Bar and the Justice building.

I'm really enjoying this map, even though playing SoF2 in between OTB's demo and this map has totally made me forget all the FO:T "squad smarts" I used to have and I'm getting creamed fighting my way into the town hall!

Not having any powerful single shot weapons means I'm having to be really carefull where I place Angela and Snake or I end up with lawyers or Diego getting caught in the cross fire!

The best set up I've found is to put Angela and Snake up front with Uzis (AP ammo) and give Doc the AK on semi (2AP) to keep Ugly's boys busy between bursts of 9mm!

I've never had to play without a sniper NPC with a weapon that had a range advantage over the enemy (even when it was a hunting rifle vs. enemy AKs) and I'm relishing the challenge of fighting a "shoot and scoot" battle!

Finally got around to playing more of this fine map! Rescuing The Mayor was good fun - especially as the BR Leader's combat shotgun is very nasty up close! I ended up dashing my 4 NPCs in with pistols on semi to ensure the BR Leader was hit every couple of APs so he couldn't get a burst off and rip my squad to bits...

His combat shotgun proved to be the "gun to have" in the hands of Doc (3AP a burst!) and the only way I could see of dealing with Ugly's "pets" when going to rescue the Mayor's wife etc...

Hope to finish the map tonight.

PS. Is there a use for the rope other than barter??

Oops, sorry I am back! I've been busy lately! No the rope has no real use, its just there for effect.

I guess this Guest is JJ86, but I'm not sure.

Perhaps the same Guest who posted in the news thread about Flamescreen's new tiles?

I never managed to save the mayor's wife...

I've been playing a bit of Quartz lately, and wanted to congratulate JJ86 on his fine map. The tilework is good, and the detailed storyline with many quests is very interesting. I'm guessing the map was made for CTB play, as the encounters I've been through so far are good in this mode but are a bit tedious in turn-based mode.

SPOILERS BELOW

I had a couple of problems, though. When the Innkeeper asked me to check out Room 20, I did so and eliminated the four bad guys and the dog. However, when I returned to the Innkeepeer after solving his problem, he had no click speech (the nerve of that ungrateful SOB!). Was I supposed to be rewarded in some way for cleaning up Room 20? Also, after I bailed Ace out of jail and followed him down to the bar, I bought a Squeezins and a bottle of Ol' Flakey. Ace immediately said he'd fix the hummer and took off to do so, but now (upon returning to the bar) he has no click speech and never offered me any info about the other Ranger (this is where I'm currently at in the game).

END SPOILERS

I've also been unsure a few times about how to proceed, and my PIPBoy doesn't list any mission objectives. Perhaps you might want to spell things out a little more clearly in future maps; since I never played the original Wasteland, I don't really have a sense of how the story is supposed to unfold.

Nonetheless, from what I've played of the map so far it's a very nice job. Large urban maps like this one are very difficult to implement, but I think you pulled it off pretty well, JJ86. When I'm able to finish the whole map, I'll try to send you a more detailed review.
