I don't really know what you're used to doing with those slavers if you don't end up with a tons of 10mm pistols, ammo, drugs etc after the fight. You don't need to buy Vic, just take him after you kill Metzger. By the way - search his corpses, what you find should be enough to buy whatever you want at the beggining.

You can also use Lara's gang help:

Gee, seems kind of like taking advantage of the game...not that i disapprove, but i just want to do my own fighting. And at that point, i needed vic because, even though he does suck right then, he's something the slavers can be shooting at other than me...

Sure, he can post whatever he wants in general disscusion (as long as it fits the rules of the place). But he can't post stuff like this in a Fallout forum.
