S'okay...those (imagine a brooklynite accent) retaaded (end accent) Klamathians deserve everything they get, anyway. Me, i just kill tons o' raiders and sell their guns... 8)

I never had trouble buying all that in Klamath either but coming to the Den, unless you kill the shopkeepers you then won't have enough to buy Vic's freedom.
So I suggest skipping the leather armour and of course getting Sulik for free. Not to mention finish all the possible quests for items to sell and money...
I don't like the gambling habbit as it ruins the setting - although the game ruins it by itself around Vault City anyway.

heres what u have to do,sell the pipe rifle the money u get for it + yer 170
should be more than enough to buy sulik, take sulike to flick, mess with him about his whacky accent(remember to close the door after u walk in)
u and sulik should have no problems killing flick, take flicks stuff sell to tubby(the guy with the store) if necessary go back to klamath and sell some of the stuff to the merchants, the dens merchants tend to run outta cash
i did this and i got 1000, im gonna go home and go buy vic, then ill give him the hunting rifle i took off flick, this combined with suliks mighty sledgehammer and my two sixshooters should be nuff to take out the slavers and getting my money back
ps.the gang war situation in the den is also good for making a few bucks
i just think its pain in the butt to go back and forth and deliver messages

Also, i'm pretty sure that you have to get ALL the gang war stuff taken care of before you off metzger...i once had the bright idea of taking Lara's gang with me to fight metzger (during the war with tyler's gang). I was successful, but when i tried to get my reward after defeating everyone, Lara only said how different things were going to be without Metzger around...or something. Point being, i didn't get my cash and it ticked me off!

clever trick you tried to pull though in the end it's what you deserve (I mean without metzger to pay her how she'll ever pay you? even though we both know she has the money...)
I've had a few bugs where the fight would end right after we just killed the guys at the entrance, and other bugs where she simply wouldn't give me the money (without doing anything weird as you did), so I always save rigth before that dang fight.

Robbing random Klamathians + Smiley (12 golden gecko pelts If I recall right..maybe 10) + stuff looted from Vic's place + random finds at the rat's nest = well over 1000 bucks. Of course, I always sell most of my healing powders and stuff like that, too...
And there's about 400-500 worth of stuff in the houses...one book, flares, etc, etc.

I'm not evil, I just like making things explode

u dont have to take care of the gang situation to get to talk to metzger, where did u pull that outta?
also, sure killing tubby is stupid but flick is a parasite, anyone who has read oliver twistknows how to handle him, also if u kill flick i think the kids stop stealing stuff from u
a good charachter cant let scum like that live
also im sure u get positive karma after u do him+the loot,he has lotsa guns+ammo+leather armour and some drugs
kill him and boom u r rich
great alternative to fucking around with the gangs and running back and forth

He just said that you had to finish that part BEFORE killing Metzger or Lara won't pay up.Jawz II wrote:u dont have to take care of the gang situation to get to talk to metzger, where did u pull that outta?
Wrong... only the kids in front of beky's dissapear... There are still some around. If you kill both there are STILL kids in front of the Hole... As for Flick, he's still a source of cash, even if a bad one.also, sure killing tubby is stupid but flick is a parasite, anyone who has read oliver twistknows how to handle him, also if u kill flick i think the kids stop stealing stuff from u
Sure they can :P.a good charachter cant let scum like that live
Yes, you get karma for killing Tubby, as for the stuff, I KNOW THAT. This was mentioned maybe 3 times in this thread alone. However they're worth more alive then dead (to sell stuff TO).also im sure u get positive karma after u do him+the loot,he has lotsa guns+ammo+leather armour and some drugs
Not really. You're "rich" in items, not in money. Which is my whole point and you missed entirely. Not to mention Tubby's the only reliable source of Cat's Paws... In Fallout 2 money isn't really an issue so I really don't see why you should bother for such a trivial amount (maybe 5k tops for both... and that's only once you've sold them...)kill him and boom u r rich

Don't remember the XP, but the karma is no different whoever you help. I guess one's just as bad as another.Kashluk wrote:Also, work for Lara. I think this gains you positive karma (or more XP not sure which)...
As for Flick, if you whack him, the guy who owes Becky cash will run away, so I don't think you get all the nice stuff later on by helping him out with the money. Then again, since he uses a new model, he might automatically be in the store anyway.
fuck
i dont care if its been mentioned before, what u think i read everything in these 2 pages?
i got better things to do
like playing with myself
ps,rich in stuff = rich in money
u can sell stuff!!
its real easy go into a store start talking to the owner and when the barter screen comes up try to SELL stuff instead of the standard procedure which would be BUYing

Actually if I recall correctly there's actually a penelty in helping the other team (ie: not Lara's) which is stupid since I don't know why she's better the they are... (which is why I remember this...)
As for my point about money, there's plenty of places which cost a lot of money (say, hardned power armour and the phoenix upgrades) which cost A LOT and you CAN'T PAY IN ITEMS.
Killing to get the objects still leaves you off with them to trade, something that by the time you'll actually need money, you'll need as many merchants to trade items you've accumulated throughout the game as you can to get this money and that for a measly ~5k$?

Well, too bad you can't start a hoaky Charity foundation in Den, than you could raise money quicker and bail out Vic. As a woman she can get half price by sharing a bed with Metzgar. As a man, you gotta pay full price or just make sure you got a gun strong enough to kill them all.
Either way, Vic gotta get sprung. Money or loss of HP, your choice.
