That's a pretty hefty penalty, all right.

However, lowering the user's PE by 4 would make the range penalties pile up like crazy, so you'd get a wider variance, w/very close range shots receiving next to no penalty while longer range shots would incur even more than an 80% penalty. Basically you'd be turning someone like Farsight into Stitch, while Stitch was reduced to "non-shootin'-motherfucker". :D
bbill wrote:did you read the bit where it said they only wounded one policemen in the final shootout, and ned kelly was an expert marksman
Yes, I read that. However, I'd be very leary of any descriptions of Kelly's marksmanship abilities. Those Victorian-era reporters were pretty quick to call outlaws "expert marksmen" and what not, partially for sensationalistic reasons (pumping up sales) as well as making the law enforcement chaps out to be greater heroes by building up their enemies.

What is a "Glasgow Kiss"? (Ooo! Another Anglecism I'm unfamiliar with!)

dirge_for_a_3D_starfighter wrote:Trouble is people would start aiming at your legs.
Uh...unless your opponents had the Fast Shot trait, in which case they wouldn't be able to make Targeted attacks.

In game terms there's always the armor-bypass critical hit, too. No matter how good the armor is, there's always the chance that someone will hit you in a weak spot, or a spot that isn't covered by it.
dirge_for_a_3D_starfighter wrote:Would love to know how armour like that would stand up to burst fire from a modern assault rifle?
That depends largely on the ammo used. Many military FMJ rounds don't have a lead core, but rather a steel one designed for penetrating light armor and/or obstacles. Ned Kelly would have suffered severe perforation by an AKM w/standard ComBloc military ammo.

It's a pretty common expression, not just something we English came up with.

GHOUL, i like perceptive characters. I solely like them for their stats, not as a fetish.

Ive always had an affinity for ghouls in all of the Fallout games, no idea why I suppose its my Resident Evil in me.

The only true ghoul in FOT however would be the Bishop,IMO.(whom Ive just met in the core campaign.)Another wierd thing about FOT, I thought ghouls couldnt reproduce? In FOT a bunch of the ghoul recruits ages are 19,17,25 etc.Which is odd since the bomb went off 100+ years before the Fallout series takes place, and thats when all the ghouls were created.

what exactly are Reavers? Im interested. I havent come across any Reavers yet, as Im stuck in one of the super mutant missions(the one where you have to defend the ghoul town).

Super Mutants are my second choice, if not tied with ghouls. I love the mutants in FOT, IMO there the best mutants of all the fallout games.FO1 and 2 they just werent grotesquely mutated enough, and I also felt like they resembled The Hulk too much.I also like how all the super mutant's avatars in FOT have the cords of flesh coming off the heads, gives them a nice look :). (btw, can Super-Mutants use energy weapons?)

Humans. hmm.. dont like humans too much but thats in every game. I have no idea why but in every MMORPG or other game Ive played I always end up picking the trolls, dwarves,or mutants or whatnot, but never the humans.*shrug*

Dogs.I miss the half-cyborg dogs of Fallout 2, perhaps when I get my modeling/texturing blah blah skills up I'll attempt to make a half cybernetic dog.

"The new hairy deathclaws could be the descendants of those escapee raccoons from FO1's glow? (that was in one of the holodisk's info)"
I always thought deathclaws were mutated iguanas? I dont see how they could be raccoons.

There are lots of mistakes in the 'cruits ENT files. Quite a few of them are illegal under SPECIAL rules and when entering the data manually the designers often made mistakes such as not setting the number of levels the character had attained since their last perk correctly.

One other area they made lots of mistakes in is the Ghouls' ages. The default is age is 19 and you can only set the age from 16 - 65, anything else has to be manually set and often it seems the designers forgot, since -- as you said -- Ghouls should all be at least roughly 120 years old.
Buffoutfiend wrote:what exactly are Reavers? Im interested. I havent come across any Reavers yet, as Im stuck in one of the super mutant missions(the one where you have to defend the ghoul town).
You won't encounter Reavers until after you hit the SMs. They are religious fanatics who worship technology. Essentially they are an organization that is very similar to the BoS in outlook, except that they are a bit more fanatical about it, and they have a hatred of all form of Robots.

Good luck. If you do it, you will have succeeded where everyone else has so far failed.
Buffoutfiend wrote:I always thought deathclaws were mutated iguanas? I dont see how they could be raccoons.
They are mutated Jackson's Chameleons. There was a holodisk in The Glow that referred to escaped, mutated Racoons. However, this location (known as "The Burrows") was left out since Tim Cain felt that it didn't jive w/the setting.

Super Mutants do not have the ability to use E-Weapons as freely as they did in FO/FO2. The only E-Weapon they are able to use is the Gatling Laser since their sprite does not include animations to use the Rifle- or Pistol-type weapons and Laser and Plasma Rifles in this game are both rifle-type weapons.
