Trudat.
Did everyone else prefer FO1/FO2 graphics to FOT? (Actually FO2 had some stupid stuff, a lot of the new sprites looked dumb). I certainly did. They were so pulpily satisfying. If they were refined a bit (to look better on higher resolutions) and the animations were fixed up, I'd be very happy.

SP is right. It would take some work (and a bit of research), but there's a good chance that I could write the code to organize the sprites onces they're shot, and I've already automated (kind of) shooting the models in 3ds max. Shooting the models and building the sprites is relatively easy (I didn't say easy, I've got respect for Red like you wouldn't believe), it's modeling and animating that's the hard part...
And if you're going to make a game in 3d there's a ton of work to do after you finish modeling. In 2d, all you have to do is write some code and let the computer handle everything for you. 2D is hard enough, 3D is harder PLUS it ends up looking worse.
HOWEVER, if a game is made in 3d it's a lot easier for gamers to modify the models...
(and I liked FO1&2 graphics better than FOT (most anyway). I'd like to see some of the old FO models updated and rendered again so we could use them in FOT... but wouldn't we all? oh well.)

True, and editing asuch, if they are kind enough to give us a editing tool , would allow people to make, swap and trade loads of add-ons, adventures.
FO graphics were sort of what gave Fallout the feel. True there were a lot of clone models, but it had the look and the backgrounds were fine.

I like how fallout looks so clunky, it makes more sense to have that than smooth 3d people and LOL ROTATER CAMERA

Well, I would actually enjoy seeing detailed people instead of clones.... ugh, the clones.
As well as full weapon details, and how about a perk like that one from the PNp games:
Macadonian Style of Shooting. Ablle to weild two guns. Three level perk. Each level decreases chance of not hitting. All small SMGs, and small pistols may apply...
So people can't fight the game the way they see fit instead of being forced to pick up the enrgy weapons they may despise.
As well as a speed loader perk which allows all clip and magazine weapons to be reloaded quicker, thus -1AP to reload. I suppose cell based and belt based ammo doesn't count.

That's no PNP perk where I come from.

It wouldn't in first person, since there's no way to tactically control anything. At least, it would be a real bitch to control for the player and the controlling player wouldn't have a very good idea of the scope of events in a tactical situation. It would make things damn confusing, yes.

Well, there were a lot turn-based first person dungeon crawlers in the late 80's, like Dungeon Master. Or would that be semi-turn based? (slow real time
)

And so my un-stated point is made by using others as pawns

So, will it be real time or turn based?

Sorry old chap, if its a choice between 3D and TB, 3D's got to go... IMO

Hmm, well, I still love the old fallout graphics and those lazy sods know what we want...
I mean, if they want Fallout to be bigger and better, do it on 2 CDs or three... I mean Fallout is pretty much a large world already. Just throw in 3 Cds. Two game CDs and one Cd devoted to editingand what not... And maybe even throw in a bonus DVD for hmm, specials like a documentation of Fallout from 1 to 2 and some commentry on FBOs and Tactics and what not.. As well as a look at all the fan devoted sights and Fallcon etc.
Also on the special DVD, we could see sokme narratives on the events that transpired over the Fallout Universe as well as documentation on life and that sort. The Bonus DVd could be watched ona standard DVD player.

OR just be able to buy the whole amn game on a DVD... with 3-4 CDs as another "product". Why don't PC games come on DVD anyway? they hold almost 7x more data. everybody's got DVD drivves by now, and for those who don't, they buy the CD version. You could still use the DVD in your TV, but it also would have the game on it.

Just throw in three CDs? Compare the bigger Fallout 2 to Fallout 1. Something doesn't have to be long and epic for it to be good, but a lot of gamers forget that - they want a lot of shitty, thrown-in gameplay rather than a few short hours of great gameplay.

Personally on the subject of realism you should have to poop.
Like, you are in combat and suddenly have to go or whatever, suffering a loss of AP due to the nice load in your underpants.
And you could be ambushed randomly by scorpions or underpants gnomes when taking a dump in the wasteland!
What a gameplay enhancement that would be!

I never said anything about "throwing in" 3 CDs. I meant that there should be higher resolution graphics, maybe some extra graphics. Also, I preferred the length of FO 2 to that of FO 1. It invariably leads to mare micro quest (like the BH mines), which leads to better replayabiliy. I am in no way implying that Evil/Good doesn't have affect. Just can the Black and white good/bad plot like the enclave have to go.
Message cutoff. Incomplete

I prefer the length of Fallout to Fallout 2. It's all quality, not really repetitve, and there's plenty of replayabiliy. I just played the game and I didn't even talk to Set, Loxley, or Morpheus once. It's also perfect in length for the gamer who doesn't have all the time in the world to put into a game. In other words, perfect for me.

But I am firm they should have Director's Cut DVd with the original Fallout 1, 2 and maybe some details on the series... Reduxed, fully patched and with bonus stuff.
