I've done it. Although substitute the .223 pistol for a Winchester Shotgun.
Well, it could be done, but it is hard...

Which level were you?
I was about lvl 15-18 by the end of it. Some parts were neigh on impossible though. Expecially working my way down to the master. I just had to stop at every lvl and kill everything, and kept dieing to the last Super Mutant on the living quarters.

I'm a persistant bugger when I want to be. I reloaded that save game, I don't know how many times.

My fav. fallout 2 encounter was the one where Frank Horrigan and his men blew away that family towards the beginning of the game, and i had no idea of his involvment in the game till the end. That moment always wa awesome for me.

Yeah, Bob is a real nutcase!

Well, had a different one this time, ran into a merchant being attacked by raiders. I just sat back till the end and looted the bodies. Got me a Desert Eagle. Now that kicks Golden Geckos all around! I got tired of the 10mm doing 1-4 points damage (mostly 1 or 2), and figured that nothing did much against the (early weapons), but the DE did great, would kill them in 2 or 3 shots. 8)

By far the best encounter I ever got in FO2 was when there were all these people in like, Combat Armor fighting these guys in metal armor, and I ran in after they were all dead and got myself a CAWS, two Pancors, and like four DEs...I was saying to myself "Is this supposed to happen?!"

wow, and heres me thinking i'd got every encounter possible!

I don't really have a prefered encounter. Prefered the encounters from FOT and F01. The one with the Malltese Falcon wasn't too shabby.
The one with the guy in rusty power armour was fun, take pleasure in killing him.

I rememer the one where you break the vault's chip. Dumb ass me thought i'd found vault13 and took it as a central base! Had loads of nice equipment on me and stored it all away nicely in the lockers. Moved through to the control room and broke the water chip. Next thing i know i can't get back down there and my stuff is lost!

The alien blaster encounter is funny, because you can also get a blaster by killing him... Meaning you can find two of them.

why the heck would you dump all your stuff?? just save it in the trunk until you find a merchant (sanfran/ncr) that sells a ton of good ammo/good guns and dump it on him.

the best part about the sales man is that after you wake up you have no idea what hes selling. it's funny how he describes the different things. once he sold me a rock and it sounded like the best thing in the world, heheh.

The one that lets you buy the Alien Blaster. It can be found above Moduc 2nd square from the top.

Oh righto. I never got that encounter, even after hours (well ten minutes anyway) spent searching.

I didn´t have the car at the time.. Got it later on...
Went into the GF-encounter pretty early in the game...
