that would have made such a huge difference in the beleivability in his charactor.
especially because 2 other cutscenes with horrigan involve him needlessly killing.

I don't understand you people!! I was so pumped to kill him! I could care less about those stupid farmers, but I was so pissed when he gunned down Matt... I just wanted vengeance.

PS: Something I've been wondering for a long time: what's with the other BOS installations? (NCR, Den, I think that's it) They don't seem to do anything special, correct? Or have I been missing out all these years? Perhaps there was going to be something involving them, but the dev team ran out of time towards the deadline?

Frank murders them in cold blood, and then turns to the PC and says something like, "This is none of your affair. Turn around and walk away,"... it seemed idiotic and hard to believe that a psychotic like Frank or a bunch of trained Enclave soldiers wouldn't kill the player then and there.

It would probably have been better if the player had hid behind a rock or something and watched the whole thing from afar.
Especially idiotic if you take into consideration the fact that every other time you encounter an Enclave Patrol, they open fire immediatly, and they're not doing anything but patrolling. But here's big bad Frank and his squad of top-notch killing machines, caught in the act of murdering an innocent family who won't give information, then he just tells you to buzz off and walks away? Idiotic to the extreme, my friend.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who thought that while Frank Horrigan was extremely irritating and obnoxious when I ran in to him on the way out from the oil rig, he really wasn't much of a character at all. And since Frank kills Matthew in San Fransisco, why doesn't he kill the other BoS agents, the ones in the Den and NCR?

Though it was both a bit cool and a bit scary that the President looked a bit like Geaorge W Bush.

I mean really, shouldn't an arch nemesis final boss kinda be like, yknow, introduced before the final battle? That little random encounter was so half-assed, and I didn't even remember it by the time I got to the end. Bad times.
Pretty much what I was going to say. Lamest end boss ever.

Yeah I was wondering about that mutated toe. Can you really use the toe that was mutated by the goo in the Toxic Caves to kill FH?

No. That has been asked thousands of times. It takes off the usual 3 HP, that's it.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Yes you can. It's simple: all you do is take the toe, and 2 pairs of mirrored shades, transmute them in your horadric cube, THEN you can use it to kill Horrigan.

I dig frank horrigan mostly because he is voiced by Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek TNG and DS9) :D

The voice and appearrance is cool, but otherwise Master kicks his ass in the ending boss category any time.

I bet you that the Hulk is frank horrigan just under enlarged power armour. because look at him he is like an 8 foot giant so is the Hulk there both green and they were both in science expriments so i think there is a little resemblience here.
Heh! One of my characters was named Hulk, and he beat the hell out of Frank Horrigan(He should have had his voice acted by Clint Eastwood  ) with a super power fist.

Exactly, although both did have awesome death animations...

I never played fallout1 but he kinda freaked me out for some reason, although I get really into video games, like system shock freaked me out a lot too. I do admit, build up could have been better.

How many random encounters are there with him? I only see one.

IIRC the only Horrigan random encounter is the one w/the farmers. However if you have access to the Brotherhood bunker in SanFran, and the guard has disappeared, you can question the computer and it will play you a little movie starring Horrigan.

As for Horrigan himself, I thought he was kind of cool, could have an interesting backstory. I wish there was a way you could talk him into betraying the Enclave and joining you. He killed me way too many times before I figured out how to get the power turrets and/or EZ company to fight with me.

It's just a conversation like the farmer thing. There's also another one when you go back to V13 later.
