Behavioral modification for "troublesome" teens

I don't think anyone would benefit going into one of these facilities, no matter how psychotic they are. Mabye something like prison or a mental home, but concentration camps aren't very human mabye.

I think Ranger School would make a great correctional facility for "troubled" teens.

The kid who had to write the essays had it good. Can't say the same for the girl who had to lie face down for 16 months, though. That's more sadistic than any hardcore sex video I've seen.

I don't think it was so much that they had to write the essays as it's the petty reasons they wrote and the volume they had to write them in. You might not think a 5,000 word essay is too much, but what about 74 of them?

You can't just dismiss it like that. 5,000 words is a damn lot to be writing with your hands. Now, I could pull it off. Most people could. But 74 of them would just get monotonous and dehumanizing.

I'd much rather be electrocuted than write those goddamned essays that degrade my intelligence and my integrity.

Do you know what I want to do? I've just given myself a challenge to write a 5,000 essay on.. um.. how I looked at a girl in a perverted sort of way.

I'll post it on the RPG Codex once it is complete. I believe that should be fun.

I think its a given that the treatment the kids receive is inhumane, if my parents sent me to such a place i would probably take the floor over conforming, hell I would do whatever i could to escape, it would probably only make the kids worse from the treatment they receive

I don't remember as many school shootings back then, either. They took you outside, wacked you a few times with a board on your ass, and then you were right back in the classroom learning something.

At my old school, most minor infringements of school rules were dealt with this way. Screw up the same way twice and you'd be writing your essay in "detention" on Saturday. A more serious breech of conduct would earn you a caning from the Headmaster. I only recall about 4 boys earning a thrashing in the 5 years I was there and no-one had ever been caned twice as long as anyone (teachers included) could remember...

You'd better pay attention during lessons too, as the board rubbers needed for the huge chalkboards used back then really hurt when one caught you in the side of the head and I remember my old English teacher (a South African woman that terrified 6' rugby playing teenagers despite being about 4'8" and 85 pounds wet) being able to hit a pupil right in the ear every shot from about 25 yards away!

But this was back when us kids addressed teachers as Sir, Ma'am or Miss and added a polite "Officer" to the end of every sentence if in conversation with a policeman (very few WPCs in those days).....

We still call our teachers Sir and Miss today at my school. Granted, we do it mostly so we don't have to remember the teacher's name, but they still ask us to do it.

How do you know they didn't happen? Reporting of crimes has continued to increase dramatically even though actually commission of crimes dropped pretty much all throughout the 90s. To me, that indicates that crime may not be as prevelant as people believe, or that the difference in the amount of crime between now and when you were young is not as great as you believe.

How old are you anyway?
