That aggravates me too. Another is "their" and "there". People I know doing DEGREES don't know the difference. God, the standard of English Literacy in this world is declining rapidly. :(

I think for those whose mother tongue's not English, anything from playing video games to watching tv helps. However, for native speakers the effect is minimal.

i dont know about "english" being as i already am fluent, being as i live in america. But i've learned a few tidbits of knowledge from certain games. The fallout series though really made me think about things i hadnt before.

kinda like watching TV. if you watch enough TV, you learn stuff subconciously.

thats my kinda friggan learning right there!

or if you live in a part of town where a different group of people live. like, i know people that had never spoken a word in spanish, then moved to the mexican area of town, when they came back they had a light mexican accent and knew almost fluent spanish.
