so, in 00-01 we had a time traveler from the year 2036
We shall see. People have been, and will be killing eachother since .. well ever.
If you American's start increasingly killing eachother over nothing in 2004-08 I will consider moving then.
Anyway you can look at it, in 10-15 years we are getting a bit overpopulated, so indeed maybe some epidemics or wars are unescapeable.

Europe already had all it's fun, back in the middle ages. Not the rest of our faults that your turn is over, sheesh.
I choose to believe what he says... gogo civil war. Maybe i can make a small holdout of anarchy someplace where I can live out a Fallout fantasy world. Or at least not have to do mandatory military service.

Even if this time travel stuff is more than likely a hoax, this raises some really cool discussion points about society.

Bah, I've heard plenty of guys that are 36 years older than me talk, and you know what? They are mostly full of shit.We are not smart enough to develop time travel in 30 years, that is a definite given. This is just a crank that is pulling my yank and surprise, the internet has no shortage of them....

You mean the part where he has a big General Electric time machine? So if anyone can go to Walmart and buy a time machine, how come we aren't overrun with people from 30 years in the future telling us all sorts of stuff on the internet?
If it was me I wouldn't waste my time talking with stupid people on the internet, I'd go back to WW2 with some cool future weapons, power armor and have some fun.

na ya see he needed an IBM processer from the 70s. He could go back to ww2, but it might not happen in that worldline, or he might fuck up that universe. He has told us a few things, but he's unsure on stuff this decade or something. Plus perhaps we are over-run with people from the future, but they seem INSANE.

Anyone ever thought about the idea that if that there would be a chance where he would come out in a different timeline where IBM wouldn' t have the required processor? Sounds kind of lame. The fault percentage on that time travelling thing he explains could very well mean he would strand in a place or 'other timeline' where there wouldn' t be no more earth. (gone, blasted to smitteriens by some big ass asteroid, who knows). Seems a lot more dangerous than he cares to ellaborate.
Besides, why would you want a 70' s IBM processor if you can build yourselves a friggin' time machine? Besides, with an atomic war there comes EMP, which would destroy most electronical aparatus. Kiss the internet goodbye. I don' t buy that crap, it sounds too much like a tale from a fanatic religious character who jerks off by the thought of an apocalyps and strongly believes the devout shall inherit the earth. Bah!

i just find it interesting that unlike most people like this that usually try to sell somthing to you and try to go out of their way to prove that what thier saying is true, this guy isnt trying to sell you somthing and couldnt care less if you believe him or not. i know its bullshit, but its some of the best bullsht ive seen and its a creative story.

It is good bullshit. That's all it really is, though. He's just some guy using a creative method to preach political and moral dogma. Reading his posts, it sounds like he's a conservative libertarian to me. I read a post on one message board that drew parallels between some of what he said and 7th Day Adventists, I believe the denomination was. Either way, as the post pointed out, he offers no real evidence that he's a time traveler. Of course, if we see the beginnings of a civil war like he described...
Literacy is overated.
