Yup, there are. There is no character creation in this game. You start off as two predefined characters who crash land on a planet, but how you build them after that is basically up to you.
I thought this game was more about tactical combat than role-playing.
It's a linear dungeon crawler for the most part.
dozens of NPCs to talk to, a main story quest and then non-important side quests, but an emphasis on combat over story.
Story often gets in the way of role-playing. After all, it's much easier to tell any story you want if you ditch the abilities of a player to do what they want. I'd say this is the case here and it's why there is no character creation. It's the story of two people who crashed on a nasty planet and what they did to win the day or some such.

Planescape: Torment is a fine example of where the story forces restrictions on what the player can and can't do, or who that player is, but still manages to be a great game.

Alright, then. Thanks for giving me some more info, Saint. This game looks interesting, I'll keep my eye on it.

I dont know about anyone else, but having to control six characters myself usually causes me to not give a shit about any of them. To give it credit though, this game sounds a lot like what Fallout Tactics should have been. I hope I will be able to kill off most of the other characters on my team and not have too hard of a time, as I doubt I want more than 2 PCs.

If you need them to win tricky combat situations you will have to give a shit :) If it lacks RP elements i atleast want it to be difficult to force you to think tactics.

That's my take as well, but I'm afraid self-delusion seems to be rampant around here.

..... tactical role-playing game Metalheart: Replicants Rampage. Lead your team to success using smart tactics, explore a huge isometric world, experience unique cybernetic body implants and tactical turn-based combat

It's a turn based tactical game with RPG elements with far more in common with FO:T than FO. Not necessarily a bad thing, as like most here I like turn-based tactical games... but an RPG it isn't. The Fall, on the other hand, is an RPG, whether you like KoTOR style "real time with pauses" or not.

I wasn't saying it was an rpg? The Fall must fall though, therefore I have to make fun of it at every oppurtunity.
