Being the first fully-3D adventure game, yeah, it was state of the art. I was just using Halo 2 as an example of a next-gen game.
as the article said, video games have leveled out. they can only make the AI slightly better and the graphics slightly shinier. its all they can do. you can only get something so close to reality. i think the gaming industry will end up like the comic book industry. booms for a little while then dies into hardcore fanaticism.
There need to be something new for kids to do before video games die. I doubt kids will go back to sports, fat as they are?

I look at my 11 years old bro and his friends and they play as much video games as I did at his age. It's just us getting old really.

It does seem like games are a bit stagnant. I kind of follow with saying all that's really changing is graphics are getting modestly better. I don't really think it's worth my money to upgrade to play the same game with more realistic water effects most of the time. I don't buy as many new games just because I have old ones that are still fun. I'm sure someone out there can improve on Alpha Centauri and Fallout in more ways than better graphics, but until they do I'll just play them and save my money.

The games I get for consoles are usually remakes of NES/SNES/Genesis games.

Prince of Persia was awesome for the NES...Hell, I loved it for DOS, too. It's amazing on the XBOX...I'm looking forward to getting Ninja Gaiden.

In a few months, River City Ransom is coming out for the GBA....It's almost enough to make me actually buy a GBA.

Some guy in my Kung Fu class actually tried to excuse himself with "I did pushups last year."

i heard the ninja gaiden game for xbox fuckin blows nutsack. you only play it for the combat because the game sucks so fucking much. if they are atleast going to make old games new, they should atleast make them good like the originals.

Hey MANDALORIAN FALLOUT GENIUS,

The old Ninja Gaiden game was.....

ALL ABOUT THE COMBAT.

It's an amazing coincidence that the remake is.......

ALL ABOUT THE COMBAT.

The game is actually cool as hell. Just like the old one. Rent it and find out for yourself.

With that logic, shouldn't have Contra 3-d been good? What about Megaman 3-d? Some things just don't work as well in 3-d as they did in 2-d.

I heard Contra: Shattered Solider was very good. The first 3D Contra, for PS1, sucked. So it depends.

Technically the newest Contra isn't 3-d in that it uses 3-d graphics but it uses a 2-d viewpoint in that you can't go in and out of the background. The old PS1 however was full 3-d and sucked ass.
