I like how most of us being at the most 10 years older are discussing "kids these days" and arriving on the conclusion that kids need to be beaten to get any respect. When I was younger my mom wasnt afraid to slap me one when I was being a dumbass, and I certainly dont think it affected me beyond learning the lesson.
Isnt it illegal to spank kids now?

Yea, the only problem though, since my parents doesn't support my technics, they won't enforce my laws, so whenever I leave he does it again. But then when I come back from work, I open my TV, and if it's on some lame channel I slap him. Also he can't touch my computer or my PS2.Nicolai wrote:My parents never punished me when I did something wrong and I turned out okay, but I can't say the same about my brother though :/
He is 11 years old and is a fucking pussy, cries all the time when there is something he can't watch on teh telly or a muffin he can't have.
I suppose that I'll have to use your tactics: toughen him by kicking his ass when he does that stuff, or something.
He's always crying when he can't have his muffin or toy too. This other time he came in my room and said he HAD to use my TV because his father(not mine btw) was watching TV in the living room, I said no and started whining and said he'd go tell my mom. I said : "I hear anything else about you watching my TV and you won't get ANY of it for a week."
I also constantly remind him his computer is actually mine. That's what work the best.
Kids of all types blow chunks. You people dissapoint me. Having them will ruin your life - one day you're having a good time beating up prostitutes in an alleyway and smoking crack and then, BAM! you have kids and diapers are the only thing you can think about for the rest of your life.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

I'm actually at the right age to start procreating. I'm the age my parents were when they had me. Plus, I work with kids all day every day. They need to be beaten. And if the parents won't do it, I'll stop taking my meds and do it for them. and as amusing as that is, if i ever pulled shit like that my dad would slap me in the head and tell me not to be a stupid shit.
i got punished as a child and i ended up alright.
EDIT: meds are for pussies.

Yeah, meds are a big bullshit fad now. They're just for lazy parents who want a behavior fix for kids who don't suit 'em. 95% of the time they're completely unnecessary.

exactly. this silvan learning center bullshit is becoming big now too. i guess society has become so fucked that people cant get through public school without having tutors.atoga wrote:Yeah, meds are a big bullshit fad now. I happen to love that place. They've offered me a job, and I'll be making twice as much as public school teacher. Yay for Sylvan! Yay for Money!Mandalor wrote:this silvan learning center bullshit is becoming big now too
I want more parents to put their kids there. It's a huge amount of money, and that comes back to me for teaching maybe 5 kids a day instead of a classroom of 30.
Yeah, those places are big rackets. If you're going to get a job there, Drinker, do your part and turn the kids into jaded cynics or otherwise fuck them up mentally.

the only thing silvan helps is old retired asshole teachers get loads of money off the stupid fucking people in society. i mean, do parents actually think that tutors can make their stupid kids smart?SuperH wrote:It's not 7-8 hours, it's only like an hour or two. My brother went to one of those things because he had trouble thinking or something. Now he just has problems with social skills. Ugh.
But they don't replace school, they "supplement" it eh?
it doesnt help anything. it may reinforce ideas from school but if parents did their fuckin job and made their retarded kids do their homework then they wouldnt need silvan.

Amen to that, though maybe some truly stupid kids can get the time they need to learn something leaving them stupid but informed.
Meds and such make things much less.. glamorous. The nice old man who lives in his house doing crazy science stuff isn’t eccentric anymore, he has "adult ADD" and maybe a little turrets syndrome. Not on topic, but something I was thinking about.

Haha... but I agree with you, Sauron. 12-16 year olds are all morons.Sauron wrote: 12-16 years old kids are all morons.
Edit : Sorry atoga
Yeah, the whole mental health thing and the "cool mental affliction to have" (ADD up until recently, probably autism now) is such a load of bullshit. Nobody actually has these things, they just read stuff like "people with autism are be awkward socially and a bit obsessive, but they are capable of incredible mental feats" and they go, "That really hit the nail on the head - THAT'S ME!" even though they aren't - they just wish that they were somehow capable of incredible mental feats to make up for their shortcomings. Or something.CloudNineGT wrote: Meds and such make things much less.. glamorous. Mental health and psychiatrists generally suck. The major problem is that most people (me included) don't have a very good idea of the real nature of mental afflictions and the like. They have a lot of silly notions about mental health, which is comparable to the silly notions that people in the middle ages had about physical health. The mind is a tough thing to understand.
