I just received Enemy Infestation in the mail today. Hopefully the sprites are compatible. I'll install and let you guys know shortly.

--- After playing and looking through the game's folders ---

I can't find the sprites. Although im not sure they would have been compatible anyway. There are some interesting game mechanics that FOT would have benefited from. I wonder why they didn't implement some of these features? The game obviously has Microforte written all over it (the level design is especially familiar). I don't believe it is tile based, but I could be mistaken.

There are .dat , .cfg , .smk and the exe file of course. The most common file types are .res files, but I don't know how to open them. Most of them look like they are map names. However, one is named Stdres.res. I believe this means something along the lines of "standard" like it contains some files that are in every map. I have tried changing the files to .zip and opening them but it doesn't work.

It seems nowhere near as complicated as Fallout Tactics, but FOT might have been dumbed down during its creation, using .zip files as a means of letting people easily mod the game later. But I doubt this. I think it was done because it was effective and easy to Microforte. I believe the res filename is probably a different type of zip file. Like ace or something. Or maybe something we have no means of opening.. grrr.. it just kills me that some sprites may be in the files that I can't get to, that could be compatible with fot!

So you mean if you try to open any of the files within Winzip, you get nothing?

Yeah, pretty much. Of course I haven't tried all of them. I will in a moment. I did attempt to use this program:

http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/

But no luck. It just wants to say out of virtual memory and such whenever I try to explore one of the files.

Its odd though, the one I thought had the standard stuff in it, it said was pretty much empty.

OK I think I've tried changing enough of the files to .zip extensions to determine it definitely doesn't work.

I think I'll try to write the creator of the resource hacker program and complain that it won't open the files, or gives me errors. Maybe that will get me somewhere. Doubt it though.
