You guys have some badass doom bands in Finland. Have you heard Skepticism, or Thergothon, or Shape of Despair? Fins all!
A jug of wine, a leg of lamb,
And thou! Beside me,
Whistling in the darkness.

I've heard of Thergothon, but Skepticism and Shape of Despair are completely strange to me! I have been concentrating on Finnish bands like Moonsorrow, Finntroll, Barathrum, Nightwish and Children of Bodom mostly.

Therion is the best metal band ever ever ever ever and you suck if you think otherwisde.

old Iron Maiden albums rock to put on for background music and GWAR is fun to listen to too and Einherjer kicks ass.

And Manowar is great if you're looking for comedy, goddamn they suck so bad.

I like a little Einherjer from time to time. And Metallica is a given.

I used to listen to Manowar a lot in the old days. Then it just got... boring. It's very repetative. Only a few really good songs popped out of the mass that are still listenable (ie. "The Power" and "Black Wind, Fire And Steel").

Black Wind, Fire and Steel is repetative as hell.

If I remember right The Power was dumb too, but some are just so bad it's funny, namely Kings of Metal, Return of the Warlord and Number #1 (Which sounds like they are singing about taking a pee)

WE CAME FOR THE NUMBER ONE, NOT THE NUMBER TWO.

I enjoy listening to Iron Maiden...occasionally. Despite of metallic rock not being something i care for.

Metal is rock and roll clear and simple where in the hell did you get the absurd idea that it isnt? In fact much of it is based on minor blues progressions that have been around since the 50's and even the infamous I, IV, V rock and roll progression rears its ugly head in metal.

A metal band could take a funky tune like super freak by rick James and metalize it without disturbing the chord structure one little bit but it would be metal because of the the way that it is played and the force with which the tune is delivered.

Metal is the most diverse and exciting musical art form in recent history and has evolved from the purly blues based stuff of the 60's and 70's to the classicaly influenced metal of today. There are so many branches of HEAVY METAL ROCK AND ROLL that i cant name them all. The one thing that all the branches of metal have in common is that they are all ROCK and ROLL.

Metal is acoustic shit, get over it. If you think it has anything to do with blues, you're shitting yourself. There's no sense of improvisation or slowness to it.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

New-age painting is good. You don't like Dada, asshole? Then again, "New-age painting" is a pretty broad term.

Dada was Expressionism. "New Age" is a vague term that can denote anything mystically-oriented, not just art.
