Fuck The South
No, everybody hates those types. What I mean is that pretty much all Americans are in a social stone age. American Democrats are pretty much on the level as the Canadian conservative right.

The dude is such a moron. He obviously didn't pay attention to the elections because if he did he'd know that almost every state in the country was split 50/40 60/30. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/
'Blue states': Washington - 46% Bush; Oregon - 48% Bush; California - 44% Bush; Hawaii - 45% Bush; Minnesota - 48% Bush; Wisconsin - 49% Bush; Illinois - 45% Bush; Michigan - 48% Bush; Vermont - 39% Bush; Maine - 45% Bush; NEW YORK - 40% Bush; Pennsylvania - 49% Bush; New Hampshire - 49% Bush; Massachusetts - 37% Bush; Connecticut - 44% Bush; Rhode Island - 39% Bush; New Jersey - 46% Bush; Delaware - 46% Bush; Maryland - 43% Bush; Washington DC - 9% Bush
Looks like DC is the only place that didn't have at least a little trouble making up its mind out of the blue states. Apparently half of the people this guy is building up as the best people the country has to offer are actually the people he hates. Let's see how the 'Red states' did...
'Red states': Alaska - 35% Kerry; Idaho - 30% Kerry; Nevada - 48% Kerry; Arizona - 44% Kerry; Utah - 27% Kerry; Montana - 39% Kerry; Wyoming - 29% Kerry; Colorado - 47% Kerry; New Mexico - 49% Kerry; North Dakota - 36% Kerry; South Dakota - 39% Kerry; Nebraska - 32% Kerry; Kansas - 37% Kerry; Oklahoma - 34% Kerry; TEXAS - 38% Kerry; Iowa - 49% Kerry; Missouri - 46% Kerry; Arkansas - 45% Kerry; Louisiana - 42% Kerry; Mississippi - 40% Kerry; Indiana - 39% Kerry; Ohio - 49% Kerry; Kentucky - 40% Kerry; Tennessee - 43% Kerry; Alabama - 37% Kerry; West Virginia - 43% Kerry; Virginia - 45% Kerry; North Carolina - 44% Kerry; South Carolina - 41% Kerry; Georgia - 41% Kerry; Florida - 47% Kerry
Looks like his wonderful all-knowing Northeast isn't the only place with views like his. So, yea. **** the South. Even though half of them voted the same way he obviously did.
It was a nice try at trying to be funny by stereotyping the South, but in the end it was just as good as any attempt at stereotypes: ignorant and moronic.
Dividing up the North/South Red/Blue states when there are people from both places that went either one way or the other is just retarded. By saying all this about 'the South' he's actually insulting half of the people who voted HIS way!
If all the 'blue' states voted 100% DEM and all the 'red' states voted 100% GOP then maybe he would have a case. That didn't happen unfortunately for him.
This isn't some black and white (red and blue) situation. America isn't as divided as people think, state-wise.
So, once again: What a little cry baby.

Yup. Not only does he win the presidency, but he also gets the washer/dryer combo from Whirlpool.Kashluk wrote:And IIRC Bush actually got more votes than his competitor this time, didn't he? So he's like the double-winner or some shit?
No, now the Democrats can't bitch and moan about how OMG BUSH TEH LOZZZER BCUZ HE DIDNT WIN TEH POPULAR VOTE!!!!!!!!11111!11!!11four See in the last election Bush won the electoral vote, which is the one that counts, but he lost the popular vote.
Of course this time they're bitching because exit polls showed that Kerry was winning. No shit, these cock suckers are saying that Kerry won because of an unofficial poll taken when you leave the polling place. If you don't know what I mean I'll explain; You go to the polls and they give you an official ballot, you mark who you want to be der fearless leader and you hand it in or feed it to a machine or whatever and then you leave. But sometimes there will be someone standing out there with a clipboard asking who you voted for.
The problem with Exit Polls is that they're bullshit. They mean nothing at all. Especially since not everyone is asked who they voted for, and not all exit pollers will ask everyone though. Lots of them are peopel who themselves voted for Kerry and thus will be biased towards the left, asking those who they think also voted for Kerry who they voted for.
Of course I wasn't asked who I foted for either, there wasn't even someone there to ask.
Unfortunately I've got two cousins in Illinois who subscribe to the theory that exit polling is accurate. So Christmas is going to be real fun methinks, since like everyone else is either very conservative or at least voted for Bush.

There was definitely some tampering with the votes. It's been said that the way things turned out in Florida, in particular, that 100% of all registered Republicans in FL. would've had to vote for Bush for the numbers to be true. That's just not a reality, as I myself know of at least a handful of Repubs down here who voted the other way.
Every county in FL., with one exception, went for Bush, which is absurd when one considers a county such as Broward, wherein 70%+ of the registered voters there are Dems, but it ended up to be that it was 77% for Bush in Broward.
As far as the exit polls go, it's been said that for every county that had a paper trail, they were accurate. In those that didn't, they weren't and Bush was always favored.

Big deal. Who gets elected president doesn't affect my life in any way. So I don't really care now, though I did vote for Bush.

Jumping the proverbial gun a tad, airsoft ? My comment was directed more at the sheer tooliganism responsible for such a vapid delusion : that regardless of their identity, motivation or goals, those that lead you have no bearing upon your life.airsoft guy wrote:That's right, we're tools because our guy owned the other guy.
If you believe you are truly free from their influence and machinations, you are a tool, sir.
Therein lies a difference between us, I care not to be represented in such a literal way by political candidates. Their personal struggles, victories and losses are not my own, nor would I ever want to make them mine or identify with them so intimately.airsoft guy wrote:I think I would rather be a tool than a loser any day.
Other than making it fairly obvious I did not vote for Howard, I cannot recall disclosing any other information on that matter. I'd entertain the possibility that you assumed I am a fellow American, and a non-Bush voter to boot, but for all your enthusiasm you are not usually so ignorant. Benefit of doubt.airsoft guy wrote:And if I remember correctly, your guy lost too.

I'm an asshole, one of the main reasons I voted for Bush was because I wanted to say, "I voted for Bush." I live in Washington state after all, we're pretty Liberal here and I like pissing people off by saying as few words as possible. Plus the President really doesn't do anything besides look good, piss off the French. Unless of course he could sign like an Executive Order and ban the internet, or puppies or left hands. Local officials have far more bearing on what goes on, that's where I vote mostly for Libertarian candidates.
I don't really care what's up with the presiden't life, like I said before, I really wanted Kerry to lose so I could walk around the streets and look at all the bitches crying about how their lives are over, the world will fall into the flames, the Four Horsemen are coming soon, the sky is falling and all that.
I know you're not American, you're Australian, I've known that for a while. Besides, I didn't much like Howard anyway, he seems like an asshat.

I should have put "Who gets elected president doesn't affect my life in any meaningful way."Blargh wrote:Jumping the proverbial gun a tad, airsoft ? That would have better summed up my thoughts. Sure, there's the Patriot Act, but it doesn't change how I live my day-to-day life at all. Moreover, Airsoft is right about local government having a bigger impact upon our lives than the federal one. In fact, just last week, the interm Governor of NJ (beats me as to who) just put out a press release that every NJ citizen will be taxed an additional $3 to help pay off state debts concerning lawsuits levyed against them. THAT impacts my life in a very direct way. It takes me about a half-hour of working to make that $3, so I am rightly pissed that they are doing this.
