Here's the deal (aka SAVE DAC FROM CERTAIN DEATH)
So, a direct upgrade from this old forum to XF2 will not be happening. We'll need to do the upgrade to the latest version of phpBB (3) first.
Once that's done, we'll see whether we'll just stick with that, or look into converting to XF2 again. But either way, registrations will reopen again on phpBB 3 and the forum will work normally.
Best case scenario this could all happen within the next couple of days, depending on how many issues we'll encounter during the upgrade. So when the forums go down / get closed, it'll be work in progress.
