Uhh, no? Shisha is just tobacco plus molasses and weird resin and stuff, and so flavour is critical. I used to spend hours smoking shisha with my friends. It's a joyfully social yet fully sober experience. It's a lot more than 'just a bong'.

Yeah, when I was still at school, we used to smoke it on our balconies at 2 a.m. Was probably the most fun thing that you managed to get up to during the day.

Oh sorry, I guess I just misread "montreux" as "montreal". Carry on.

And shisha is dirt cheap (like $10 for a giant vat of it which you could smoke continually for a month, plus about $2 for coals to last you that long). Though, I never paid for it, and the hookah was brought over by a friend of mine from dubai.

I find it funny that they jumped all over you for the hookah and shisha useage. We used to do it when I was in college. Enjoyable and relaxing experience. Excellent way to hang out, if you so desire.

I thought everyone knew what a hookah is.

And yes, it does make an excellent bong. Weed just flies when you use one.

As a somewhat interesting observation, I did not know what a "hookah" was, so I checked it up on www.dictionary.com, and one of the synonyms provided was "narghile", which means a shisha pipe in Turkish (I have a few Turkish friends, incidentally, I used to smoke with them as well).

So what's the difference between a shisha pipe and a hookah, or are they the same thing? ;|

A hookah is really big (3 or 4 feet tall?) and frequently more than one pipe will be attached to it, allowing for a multiplayer smoking experience. If that's any different from what a shisha pipe is (never heard the term before).

Well, I guess that it isn't much different then. We used to smoke those when I went to Turkey, in Turkish they called them "narghila", but we referred to then as shisha, as we spoke English amongst each other.
