Whenever I think the current game supply sucks, I re-install X-Com, ADOM or Civilization II. They never let you down. Every game is different and simple enough to keep ya playing late into the night. I installed
Doom Roguelike a couple of months ago. I didn't finish it and I got bored in the end, but it was a fun waste of time for a couple of weeks.
I don't feel like playing Fallouts anymore for some reason. Could be I overplayed them back in the days.

For that extra response, ofcourse! Why would you bother asking?
Blargh wrote:Nonetheless, for when one lacked the motivation to stuff around with anything vaguely complex, the in game weapon options of Worms 2 were quite welcome.
Oh come now, the use of
FiddlerTM was as easy as any in-game setting. For the über-lazy, there were even downloadable schemes ( quite good ones, too, especially the realistic handgun packs ), and the building of an urban level ( even with removal of water and borders ) was no more than paste-in-place buildings in any paintprog, and the unchecking of two options.
I will still give Worms 2 credits 3; easy soundbanks, speech and the multiplayer.

For the sake of certainty.

By the way, San Andreas was K-18 (=AO) rated in many European countries before and after this whole hot coffee issue, so it doesn't really matter
Just more content for our money.

Same here, down in sheep-shagger land (New Zealand). Any hidden perversion is just icing on the cake for us.

If you're into strategy, try Europa Universalis 2, in my book its in top with civilization.

That's an ok game. Can get a little boring, though...

I really liked Hearts of Iron 2 from the same developer IIRC. I also enjoyed Rome: Total War as it combines well real-time tactics and turn-based strategy. But good strategy games are rarely released.

Games:
Good thing I read HW2 is crap.
Saved me time & $.
I picked up Freelancer a couple of weeks ago.
It's a no-go. Crap. Double Crap.
"Living Universe" my ass.
I was hoping for a cross between Fallout and Starflight.
No: it's just empty, repetitive, boring.
The "plot" is ripped from Anachronox with minimal alteration.
Made for Microsoft by Digital Anvil, or something.
I'm tempted to start spamming the official site for the release
of the "patch" that enables the "Living Universe", the one they
blatantly lied about on the box.
I should have known better.
Suggested games: how about "make your own explosives".
Even recreational butt-wiping would be more fun than the current load of slop.

The only thing that redeemed Freelancer was the very, very end.
Flying into a Dysons Sphere is cool, even if the textures are horrible
*edit*
Which reminds me: The end of Painkiller was worthwile too. Definately the best level in the entire game.
And I would never, ever pay for Freelancer, ever.

I got into this game Hegemonia not too long ago. It's kinda like Homeworld, but I somehow found it less retarded. I haven't played in a while but was thinking of having another go.
For Freespace 2 fans check out the FS2Open dealy:
http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/f ... adid=28967
There's a bunch of addons and stuff which is supposed to be sweet. Might get around to checking someday.
I finally bought Call of Duty and the United Offensive expansion. Pretty ok, kinda short, worth the $20. Levels and stuff look awesome, but it all has this artificial Disney theme park ride feel. I hate that shit. Good for a playthrough once, and I'm assuming multiplayer is crap.
