NWN2 doesn't provide a lan mode, as far as I know. You press multiplayer and bang, you got an Account screen up your trap. You fail at whatever, eh.

After entering the multiplayer mode didn't you check if there was an option to browse lan servers? That's how it worked for the first one anyway and most of the multiplayer design got recycled.

I'm fairly sure you can just skip the username account thing, to start a lan game. I remember pressing "cancel", and multiplayer came up anyway, even though I wanted to go back to the main menu.

Besides, just unplug i-net, and play over LAN that way. No way to check (L)username.

Otherwise, find a LAN crack.


Some tips for multiplayer...

Remember to open the right ports to host a game =(
make sure to use Ventrilo, teamspeak, skype or some other voice program, because the in-game chat system sucks balls.

if you don't have voicechat, I recommend playing in windowed mode, and writing over MSN.

Remember, looting everything doesn't help if you can't carry it anyway..

don't forget to put party leader on the one with the highest diplomacy/buff/intimidate skills.

i've read through this thread and it's no fun; you disappoint me guys

Stop complaining and get into a lan game of feeble proportions with me and 2 other guys before you pass judgement. From what I noted NWN2 is a shining example of mediocracy, and there's little you can add to praise or hot live xxx teen debates.

there's a host of nwn2 movies over at youtube, but I've only found two that show gameplay and are not completely blurry; so for those who don't have the game and wanto to see it:

for me, BG2-type hack-n-slash with pause system.

can people who played it say how much it's on the hack&slash side versus the story-driven, meaningful-choices-determined, non-combat-optioned side?
