Looking at the other two consoles, the Xbox 360 only has two flagship games which are worth a damn: Halo 3 and Gears of War, and one of them's not even out until Winter 2007. I don't like console FPS controls as a rule, but for those who can work their fingers around the control sticks, I understand some of the appeal.

The PlayStation 3 - Overpriced shit. Firstly, next year, you'll be able to get a top-range computer which will leave the PS3 in the dust, and with that package, you get a better games computer than the PS3, twenty years of viable games and the flexibility that doesn't come with any other computer games system. BluRay looks to be a waste of money - they're never going to be able to muscle Microsoft onto the BluRay format.

A high-end PC would be my gaming platform of choice.

However, I like what Nintendo decided to do. I bought a Wii. Looking forward to Metroid Prime 3, Zelda is a great game. I'd like to see more hardcore FPS games on the Wii though. Wish they'd kept the name "Revolution" though.

actually, i find dead rising really fun

i can never get enough mall zombie smashing! plus i get to take gory pictures.

'course, i had to return the first one because the hard drive was having problems. but when i exchanged it, they threw in call of duty, too, for free.

1.Gears of War is awesome, wish they didnt fire the storyline dude halfway through, but ehh.
1a.Shut up moron, Gears is GR:AW on crack, with fewer weapons, funner gameplay, and fighting against primordial horrors, in no way is it an FPS, the funny thing though, is that Halo fans are for some reason offended by a game with a completely different playing style, why those idiots are bitching about Gears instead of why their shitty no0b-combos failed against anyone with a brain.

I have an xbox360 and it sucks on a regular TV as all the games are made for HD in mind. I can't even read the text in Dead Rising because its so small and fuzzy and capcom won't release a patch because they are lazy japs. This christmas has been a big pain in my ass for games, all the game companies and fans are assholes. All the fans bitch at people cause they are like "LOL ZOMG BUY AN HDTV IF YOU WANT TO READ THE TEXT LEWLEWLLALEAWLEL"

Wow. I never would have guessed that a third-person shooter could make the rounds in a first-person dominated world, but I suppose there's a load of players who want a cerebral experience in their gaming.

...now, can you do VC, Firmware(Opera), or whatever in Dial-Up?

Unfortunately, you need a broadband modem - there's no jack in the back for a phone line connector. I wouldn't want to try the Internet Channel on it without broadband anyway (although once you have the broadband connected, the Internet Channel is surprisingly fast).

Also, is Metal Slug as awesome as I remember?

Don't know - haven't played it or seen anyone playing it.
