What a Fallout game on the ds would need is an emulator similar to Scummvmds (perhaps some way to use is through Scummvmds? Not sure of the tech there).

just a point nintendo DS audience seems to be little kids and women ( they come in pink for fucks sake) so the chances of an official FO on it is not really gonna happen.

You can run win 95 on a PSP so i dont see any problem with getting fallout to run on one. And a PSP is a CRAP load better than a ds.

Except how would you control the game, peanuty. Gosh you have to use your peanut sized brain a bit.

you only need a mouse and you have a makeshift one, the analogue stick. It is a bit tricky, but all the objects in fallout ar big enough for it to work fine. I have even played quake on a psp. somehow i think i will manage a turn based rpg.

the analog sticks on the psp are fucking garbage. the only good thing about a psp is loading it with homebrew + porn.

personally i would take a psp over a ds at the drop of a hat. i cant remember the name of the fps i bought for my friend but it makes having a psp totally worth it.

Clearly, it must.

After much thought (this thread is ancient, heh) I've decided that neither of the handhelds that are currently popular would fit the bill, though the interface of the ds would be good if it had the hardware to support our holy grail.

Shelf this one for five years from now, kids... Perhaps at that point people will be really ready for a good fallout game, after the dickloadble content from failout3 starts rolling in and the $8 new party members you can purchase piss several thousand people off.

I know this topic is extremely old but I have some ideas to make Fallout work on the DS. For the interface problem, just use an interface similar to Age of Empires Mythologies.

It may not seem like much but it would work for Fallout in turn based. As for RAM, use an expansion GBA slot like EZFlash 3-in-1, it worked for Quake 2, it can work here.

Odds are, this thread is beyond the point of anyone giving a crap, but I just thought I'd share some ideas since I think the concept can still work.

New DSes don't have that GBA slot.

Which is one reason I kept my Lite. The Lite is better for homebrew, anyway, because Nintendo can't screw you over with firmware updates.

Well yea, but do you think Nintendo would really ok it for a game to be published on their system which doesn't support the NEWEST ineration of the system they put out?

I have 8 gigs on my DS and this sort of memory is only going to get cheaper.

I doubt Nintendo supported Quake and Doom going on it, either. I thought this was getting Fallout on DS via homebrew, not commercially. :giggle:

Of Ram or hard drive space via a flashcard? Cause the flashcard space would have had very little to do with the ram.

Flashcard. I wasnt actually replying to the ram question, more the, the game can only be a maximum of 1gig.

This PC I am sitting on only has 6Gb Ram. How would a ds have 8 ?

Fallout DS was about homebrew, for sure.

I might be interested in doing the project if I had a solid team together but I still think the DS isn't where it's at, and that the next platform will be better.

Shit, Fallout Iphone would be better, probably and I've never even used that stupid shit.
