Btw, isn't there like "mining caps" or something in Redding in fallout 2? Different factions in the city have their own like currency, which have a high worth(higher than the gold). That's a good example that is isn't consistent throughout the wasteland.
And if I'm not wrong, Broken Hills break ore(gold ore). Perhaps they are backing it up? Still, Broken Hills is a small community..too small to hold sway over all the other towns as well if it were so.

In FO1...the 1st time I came across bottle caps....I discarded them....what the hell is this garbage....hahahahahah...I wonder how many other people threw their bottle caps away the first time....until they hit a trade center.

Not me. I try to keep everything that I come upon and them sell them. Yep, I'm a trash collector.
