Atleast it isn't the GI Joe movie. That's a piece of shit waiting to be flushed into theaters.

Power armor? Seriousily, hollywood? That seems more rage-worthy than Star Trek ever could be.

They didn't fuck up anything in the Star Trek universe too badly and before anyone says "ALL THE OLD STUFF IS NOW GONE AND IS ERASED!" Well...it can't work that way no matter what some shitty writer says. Eliminating the old universe in it's entirety creates a grandfather paradox of sorts - this movie just created a new ALTERNATE time line, it doesn't replace it the old one.

yeah, GI Joe movie looks terrible. Like beyond shitty.

It makes me wonder why they didnt just make a Starsky & Hutch type remake completely ripping on the cartoon.

Finally saw it, didn't like it. It didn't feel like Star Trek as much as a parody and the shake-cam/lens flares were very distracting and very annoying.

I saw it today with some friends of mine, I thoroughly enjoyed it, I laughed when I saw that the dude Kirk and Spock were going to parachute down with was not only a red shirt, but coincidentally had all the explosives. The homages to the show were present and I think they were pleasant surprises. The plot meshed together well and the special effects were top notch, Simon Pegg was a great Scottie and the dude they had play McCoy was spot on.

I saw it. It was boom boom explosions, lol. Not bad, but nothing special, either. Mediocre story, supported mainly by some drunk hick playing Kirk, and Leonard Nemoy being a hero.
