Read his biography. Very interesting.
I'm glad someone metioned the great aerial tank killer.

Ju 87 G-2 "Kanonenvogel" with its twin Bordkanone BK 3.7, 37mm underwing gun pods. Very effective tank hunter/killer, this was the last "hurrah" for the stuka killing tanks in a role it wasn't designed for but it worked effectively.

Pulp Novel

Pulp Novel

Back in the day, when the victor's celebratory history had been re-"filtered" during Cold War One.

Back in the day, when it was John Wayne, on black and white Saturday afternoon TV, winning the war for "Old Glory", ... single handed.

Dogged eared pulp novels passed through our kid's network, hand to sweaty hand.

Title's like "Conan The Barbarian", and "Queer DaddY", represented thematically the one - two dynamic duo of Sex and Violence.

Sometimes it was "Catcher In The Rye", sometimes "Lord Of The Flies", years before they were academically required.

One was a pulp novel 'pocket book" named "Stuka Pilot" by Hans Ulrich Rudel.

Was one of several links to a world bigger then what was told on TV, and a real shadow cast of the peoples and politics unseen by the blinding fast-talk of social realist populism.

When I first heard of the A-10, did I know some back story, ...

F-ck Yes.

Imagine that, straight down, like an arrow. Into your enemies fists.
Oh the terror. You must evade a placements of AA, heavy machine gun fire and ordinary foot folk firing up. Never hesitate or it is already to late. Drop the bombe and then a sharp turn, sharper than what anyone even feels in the amusement park and thats with fearing for your life.

Dude 7.5 CM canon? That can't be. Looks smaller than the one above. 7.5 Cm is fucking light artillery.

I was wrong: http://www.riemarfamily.com/graphics/75 ... unting.jpg

The inside is huge... just that them muzzle on the top one has a large protective shell and you see the whole thing.

Somehow it still doesn't look as big as 75 mm tank guns though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:M24-C ... trun-1.jpg

At some point I'm sure they considered just mounting the 88 onto everything they had. Cars, planes, uboats and cattle.. all with tank killing capabilities.
