Indeed it is silly. But it doesn't depend on the developers. On the contrary, they're usually the ones wanting to get stuff out. It's thanks to them that it is now obvious what's going on regarding Fallout 3. Unfortunately, their bosses - the ones who decide - are managers and economists, and they more or less don't have to give a rat's about what the devs think.Almost silly they don't just get it over with and announce. Fuck if these developers don't take themselves too seriously.
The frightening thing is that it seems to be authentic. I mean the sign looks photoshopped, but it's hosted on Appelhans' website. All together now,
HI CHRIS !
Well, maybe it's a bit old... or they've switched shirts... nah, bad mental image.

c'mmon guys, why all this irony bout Chris - I browsed through his www and I think he's really talented; I really like his art, it is professional, it carries emotions and I in most cases I get the feeling it looks just the way I would like it to look if I were the author.
the fact that he perhaps didn't know the precise relation btw fallout world technology and the size of a robot's legs/head/arm does not make him a retard and shouldn't make him a scapegoat.
the gasbot just looks cool and, though there may be valid claims that it does not completely fit in the F world, other BIS guys probably ought to handle that.
we would all love to see Fo3 meet our expectations and I guess Chris has nothing against this; if he'd been instrtucted by sb learned in Fallout intricacies, I'm sure he'd readily have made concept art coming up to the needs of Fallout fans.

You're right DJ, I neglect to remember that Interplay ulitmately is in charge *gulp*, so yeah its up to the publisher to announce.
Sheesh I remember a day when Interplay was highly regarded. Damn.
As for this being a joke, I'd be ready to agree with you if not for the 'conspiracy' to cover up poor young Chris's contribution.
Cheers

Yeah I got a bad feeling like this too, even I could have made such a Fallout 3 logo in 10 minutes.Bridgeburner wrote:They're probably laughing their asses of looking at all the enthousiasm they've caused here. This still could just be a bad joke by Sawyer and this Appelhans.EvoG wrote:When stuff like this happens its quite clear that something is going on, and in this case of course, that something is Fallout3.

I'm not very impressed with gasbot, it looks like some weird repairdroid from Star Wars. Either this stuff is true or they're just messing with us. Either way, I'll wait for the official announcement of Van Buren first. If it really is a new Fallout, then the license problems with Jefferson is a positive thing, except for all the fantasy influence the game might get from the Jefferson-team.

Not necessarely... I mean with all the time invested in Jefferson and it ebing dumped means that BIS will need to come up with a new game SOON. Given Van Burren was the next in line after Jefferson it means it'll have it's deadlines cut for more profits, which unless money starts raining on IPLY/Titus probably won't happen. Which in turn will mean a rushed-out-the-doors FO3. Which is something we all know we don't want.
...
that's no logo, it's called concept art?Silver wrote:Yeah I got a bad feeling like this too, even I could have made such a Fallout 3 logo in 10 minutes.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
Don't you think they could foresee this turn of events somehow? Didn't they know that they'll lose the BG rights in the nearest future? Geez what a stupid move if that's true.Spazmo wrote:Jefferson has likely been cancelled since it was going to be Baldur's Gate III and IPLY lost that liscence on the PC.
The drawing is concept art, and I was refering to the tiny F3 logo which was added on this concept and not on the previous 'wallpaper'.atoga wrote:that's no logo, it's called concept art?Silver wrote:Yeah I got a bad feeling like this too, even I could have made such a Fallout 3 logo in 10 minutes.
