Yah but modifying it assumes you're actually working on the project to begin with...Duke Nukem Forever's been constantly promised but I think that everybody has unofficialy labeled it as dead.

Written off as vaporware, just as Unreal was.

Should it ever come out, I expect the level design worsen as the game progresses. Again, I come back to Unreal.

Well that may be true if it ever does come out, but as for Half-Life 2 I think the level design will be solid all the way through. Although I don't know if they can make as much use of the physics engine throughout the game as they seem to think they can.

Dude, it's Half freaking Life 2. It's most likely one of the most anticipated games ever to be annouced. Valve has to paint a freaking Da Vinci, otherwise there's an good chance that gamers world wide might not hold them in the same regard.

Has anyone played Gunman Chronicles, whatever that total conversion was called?

Even *if* all the levels are only moderately fun to play, and you kind of feel it's prety repetative and so on, it doesn't really matter.
HL was famous for it's Mod-capabilities, and so will HL2, but with a nifty engine, and c00l graphics.

Gunman Chronicles? Sure. Bought it despite the bad reviews and so on.

IMO, a refreshing story, with interesting parts, and the everchanging scenery. Some of the weapons were somewhat strange, like the chemical-mixer, which you never really used, because there were so many combinations that you didn't really bother to find a good one, but rather just spurt away.

Christ... Imagine Natural-Selection with SOURCE!

You could block the doors with boxes to prevent the aliens from entering, but then the Onoses come... Mweheheh... So many possibilities...

Anyone knows how it runs on a 56k? I actually haven't had the time to download the mod.

Silly mortals, nothing compares to 1 megabyte(What the hell is up with that 'y' in 'byte'?) cable! HAHAHAH!

True enough, especially since you don't have a 1 megabyte per second connection. You most probably have a 1 megabit connection.

As for the y in byte, well it's to differentiate from bit. There's eight bits in a byte.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

your connection is mere 128 kilo byts n00b! the correlation between that and hl2's physics is clear as a crystal ball of steel

Ahem. N00b, what is your connection speed? Right, no correlation what-so-ever. So, back on topic. Any body particularly excited about a certain mod other than NS?

Everyone forgot 'The Wastes'? I doubt a HL2 version of it will be made, seeing how bad the design process of the original went. (Lots of problems, etc.)

They are already making a post-apocalyptic game with a Half-Life 2 engine. Didn't you get the memo?

A lot of the original team from Wasteland Halflife are considering a aequel for Half Life 2. Unfortunately, none of them work well together, and I doubt we'll ever see a finished mod from these people in the future.

That is sad. Someone needs to effort to make a popular post-apocalyptic mod, perhaps even as popular as NS! Though I do hope they ditch the deathmatch and go teamplay.

Half-Life 2's modding capabilities should allow for some pretty nice mods. In a Fallout Mod you could use some pretty sweet looking power-armor equipped with a flame-thrower, and go into a raider base and light everything flamable on fire and laugh as the silly raiders throw spears and chairs at you that just bounce of your mighty BoS Armor.

I'd prefer an original setting, rather than another failed Fallout wannabe.

By the way, Nuclear Gandhi, the new T3 War of the Machines game sounds like it might actually be the kinda game you're looking for. Depends if you're into Terminator, though.
