Your a fucking swell guy taluntian. You're lucky we donated anything, dont start bitching how DAC didn't raise as much as everyone else OMG. If the other sites are so superior why don't they raise the rest of our money?
God forbid you actually have to pay out of your own pocket for a cpu upgrade of a lifetime.

golly, you mean my 1p didn't help? :glum:
Perhaps if you had the option of being able to say, spend 5 dollars to get rid of banners it would be more of an incentive to donate instead of just 'cpu upgrade' that we won't even notice :glum:
hey because smileys use so much bandwith and we didnt raise the money can you take away smileys?
POOPERSCOOPER, as far as I know, you didn't donate anything, so shut up and enjoy the free ride you're getting. Other sites aren't required to pay DAC's part as well, only their own.
And believe it or not, I've paid for pretty much every other upgrade on this server up to this point, and there were several of them. Not to mention that I'm paying the bill every month. And I sure as hell don't do it gladly for the benefit of idiots of your caliber.
Megatron, talk to Teatime or DU about that. We have such a system in place for Sorcerer's Place. Here, however, it'd probably require a lot of work as the code on all the pages would need to be changed for it to work.
I agree the CPU upgrade is kind of useless. I didn't hear any complaining about the speed since we moved back to sorcerers. If the other sites want to bitch about it fine, but they're the one who will pay.
This email confirms that you have paid donations@sorcerers.net $5.00 USD using PayPal. This credit card transaction will appear on your bill as "PAYPAL *DONATIONS".
Keep forgetting some sites demands IE, especially 4 am.
Oh shit im getting a free ride on a site/forum, im so spoiled. I dont see how anysite is REQUIRED to do anything when it comes to DONATE, since when was DAC required to build up $40? You asked and we have given you $15 so far, consider yourself grateful.
Didn't you ask for donations for the RAM upgrade to? It sucks you have to pay the monthly bill but that is what happens when you make a server. I know Im an idiot for not donating but I wish for you and I to be best friends

No one is required to donate. Common courtesy, however, requires you to keep your trap shut when you're not helping in any way, and to let the others shine. Of course, I realize how ridiculous it is to try to teach this to you, of all people, but you can't blame me for trying.
And just because you've got the ex-Pope's avatar doesn't mean you speak for anyone but yourself. So stop the "we" bit. It doesn't apply to you in any way. You're not royalty, and you haven't donated. So in way do you fall among the "we" group that actually helped the site out and donated.
I asked for donations for the RAM upgrade on Codex and my site, back then. And my site covered most of the bill - for a year. I've been paying for it myself after that year expired.
You're not an idiot for not donating. You're an idiot for not donating and going on the offensive. I'm not blaming anyone who doesn't want to donate. Fine, if you don't want to support the community you enjoy, that's your decision. But I do have a problem with community members who not only don't support the community, but openly attack me for trying to gather some support where it is needed. Independent sites have it hard enough without having to keep up with this sort of bullshit.
P.S.
This little debate has actually managed to drum up some more support, as a few more people have donated, and some have contacted me about donating. We're not up to $40 yet, but getting close. So thanks again to all who donated!
Anyway, I'm happy to say that contrary to Sol Invictus' prediction, we've now reached $40 (gone over a bit, actually). So we made the target, but more importantly, proved Rex wrong.

It's all because of our amazingness.
