Mine still really perplexes me. Why the hell would it crap itself because it's hitting 50C? I'm starting to think it might be my cheap PSU that's the problem.
Well, yeah, that's really weird. Because at this weather and the way my "air conditioning" works I have no hope of getting my CPU's temperatures below 50 at any time when it's running. And it's doing fine. I actually played San Andreas when it started getting a bit laggy and I saw it hit something like 75 so I shut the shit down and let it cool down for the day.
Make sure you have thermal paste betw. the heatsink and your CPU. Also, remember to clean the dust from the heatsink and the fans regulary. Always make sure that your fans are working. If the fans are making too much noise, they may be defective and/or in need of lubrication.
I used to have my laptop overheat on me a lot.. 'Turned out that there was some dust and chit in my fans, so I just vacuumed it.. And now it's all fine and dandy.
