oh this shit. it's the present day (synthetic I guess) substitute for what's called "kwas chlebowy" (bread acid/sour liquid).
And "kwas" in Polish has all the meanings I gave you, not to mention metaphoric meanings etc; I don't know why this product has only 'kwas' in its name.. (as there are even other kinds of 'kwas' drinks, not to mention other types of kwas, totally not related to food) Perhaps Russians skip the "bread" part in this context. I've no idea about Russian (except maybe 10 words).
I don't know how the original "bread kvas" tastes, but - what's funny - I guess it's not really sour, contrary to its name!
Here's a simplified recipe, Toxic: you add some sugar to water, some crumbs of wholewheat brown bread (the real kind, which is a little bit sour - maybe thus the "kvas" name of the drink) and you add some yeast, then you let it ferment (I don't know for how long or how you stop it).
I don't know anybody who drinks "kwas chlebowy"; I only know one "inn" which is supposed to provide traditional old Polish foods, where they serve a few kinds of "kwas".
This present-day thing you linked Kash: yea we also have it in Poland, some people buy it because the name sounds cool and traditional and you know it from books, but I don't know anyone who has bought it more than once (it's not tasty, personally I hate it).

Shit. I remember those. When I was a kid, they were so fucking popular to eat non-cooked. We put the flavor powder in the little bag, then we crushed the noodles and ate them. Korean BBQ rocks (Mongolian, Yaki-niku whatever the fuck they call it). They just give you a plate of raw meat and you got that gas grill in the center of the table. They even give you some hot peppers and onions and shit to grill. You take the meat off the grill into this insanely good marinate. Something so right about meat and fire.
